Iran Tells Obama Not To Repeat 'False' U.S. Charges
TEHRAN (Reuters) -- Iran has called on U.S. President-elect Barack Obama not to repeat what it said were false accusations leveled against the Islamic republic by the outgoing administration in Washington.
The United States accuses Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons and President George W. Bush has spearheaded a drive to isolate Tehran internationally. Tehran denies the charge.
"We have to see whether or not this change in orientation by Obama is in practice and whether it will bring about fundamental change in the behavior and stance of America in relation to Iran," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi told a news conference.
He said Obama should not "repeat past statements and instances whose falsehood has been demonstrated by Iran," a reference to U.S. accusations about Tehran's nuclear plans and other issues -- although he did not mention specific charges.
"This is a very important point and undoubtedly Iran will undertake an appropriate and timely measure proportionate with the new U.S. behavior and action," Qashqavi said.

4. that's a far cry from the diplomacy he's promised
. . . as are his statements accusing them of sponsoring terror and working towards building a nuclear weapon.
I'd like to hear him explain how Iran's uranium enrichment is going to spark more of an 'arms race' than the U.S. ambitions to refurbish or add to our own nuclear arsenal.

5. Judging from Obama's comments on this matter
It looks like the hysteria over Iran's uranium enrichment program will continue. Sad, so much for change.

6. and his administration is poised to fall right into the corporatist scheme
. . . to cripple Iran economically in the U.N. using the hype over their uranium enrichment and smearing them with whatever act Hamas or Hezbollah commit. But if they want Russia's cooperation on Afghanistan they might have to backpedal from the fear rhetoric. Russia has ongoing oil and nuclear plant construction deals worth billions. China has oil deals with Iran as well.
Also, Europeans aren't going to go happily along with further economic sanctions which limit their own ability to deal with the oil-rich nation.

It is slowly dawning on them that the small child candidate now has to operate in the adult world.
They are not ready too though.

Not so sure that Il Duce is ready either. He's in over his head.

The DUmmies should actually study the situation sometimes.
Iran's oil is sour, not sweet. It costs more and requires specialized refineries to do more than make asphalt with it.
The Europeans know Iran wants Nukes, and they have negotiated with Iran for years to get them to stop. There are indications that the Europeans have told us that they are at the end of their rope and negotiation isn't providing anything useful.
The other Middle Eastern states are terrified of Iran and want somebody, anybody, to bomb the hell out of them. They don't care if it is us or Isreal. They may make some noise, but they wouldn't really care.
Russia still wants to be a player. So much so that they just ruined their economy again trying. Since they can't manage to be a player they are certainly player hating. That means they oppose us more out of spite than out of rational strategic interest. It actually favors us as long as they keep doing that.
China has other concerns right now, and they have access to other oil. They aren't going to come to Iran's aid.

Just in case any lurking dummies didn't see the breaking news forum , here's some hot Iranian action.

What frightens me the most is how so many of them would be perfectly happy with the U.S. surrendering to the rest of the world and turning into the terrorists favorite bitch.

You know, you'd think they'd take a few seconds to consider just why their anointed one has suddenly changed his tune. All that flowery rhetoric, all those high-minded moonbat ideals, only to have him singing the same tune as Bush and Clinton before him. Could it be he's seen actual intelligence reports instead of the fan mail Hezbollah sends to code pink? The only president in modern history who completely ignored reality was Jimmah "I sinned in my heart" Carter and look where it got him? The Messiah has too big of an ego to go down that road. No, he's going to talk like a cowboy, just like his predecessors...the difference between the two parties is that (as a general rule) the Republicans have the balls to actually get on the horse.
