Issued by The National Weather Service
Portland, ME
3:58 am EST, Sun., Jan. 11, 2009
... WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST TODAY...
A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST TODAY.
4 TO 7 INCHES OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED.
EXPECT SNOWFALL THIS MORNING TO MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT WITH VISIBILITY AT OR BELOW A HALF MILE AT TIMES IN SNOW.
===================================================================================
I've got more than that on the back porch already. At least now I don't need an excuse to slack off all day. I just hope it stops snowing BEFORE I have that 3rd pitcher of mudslides or that 5th beer.
Only down side to the snow is that the wind is really kicking up right now. Wind chills are below zero, despite temps in the teens. Also going to get real cold in the next few days. Talk is negative teens on Wednesday and Thursday.

No snow in the forecast for me today. Lucked out yesterday and missed the "wintery mix" we were supposed to be hammered with.,..only had about an hour of driving with an icing windshield, the rest was just rain.
Today, another day of dance...that makes 8 days straight with no break with this choreographer, and the other one is coming back the end of the month.
I'm planning on heading to the grocery store today at some point, other than that, I"ll just watch football!

I have to fly to El Paso today for a stupid three hour meeting at White Sands Missile Range tomorrow.
Hour to the airport, hour flight, hour to the hotel.
I'm going to miss some good football, and I'm NOT happy about it.
Could be worse. I'm traveling to Iowa on Super Bowl Sunday.

STILL so totally not a sports guy. :)

70 degrees and sunny here in L.A. -- looking forward to a great morning and afternoon of football.

I found this site yesterday: http://livingintok.wordpress.com./ -60 during the day. Sounds like a blast. :p It is slightly above freezing here.
I'm going to veg out on the couch for an hour or two (before the McLaughlin Group comes on), and I'm going to head to the store. Yay.

Whenever my mom's had to fly out to El Paso for work, it's a one day deal. But then she just watches the launches at work on the teevee, instead of going out there. (Especially that time she knew the other team had f-ed it up and she knew it was gonna be a misfire, she declined the day trip to El Paso that time.)

I'm at my silly little second job. I was out waaaay too late last night and I have a headache this morning. I'm ready to get back into bed.

Sparks, I saw a 10-day forecast on the Weather Channel's site that said that our Friday (this coming Friday) high was going to be 5 F, and the low was going to be -10 F. Effin' wonderful.
Some of the guys in the deer camp I belong to are going up to the camp sometime soon, for the weekend, for small-game hunting. Grouse and the such. Going out in those temps is stupid. Even though a couple of them are Dems, they just might not be that stupid.

Home from work, finally.
Would it be a good idea to consume part of a habanero to clear my sinuses? :p :lmao:
that's how desperate I am. I've tried 3 different kinds of nasal sprays (the addicting kind, steroid, and saline), Sudafed, NyQuil/DayQuil, Allertec, etc. Nothing is working whatsoever. My doctor actually told me that leaving Savannah might be the best cure, and I am hoping he's wrong. I'm allergic to this city, it seems.
Anyone got any other suggestions, because NO OTC OR prescriptions are working.

Hot toddy -- Hot tea and a big HUGE slug of whiskey. A little honey. Breath deeply, then sip. Repeat.

I'll give that a try. I'm tired of putting all sorts of chemicals up my nose and in my mouth. Time for something less irritating.
If it weren't so expensive (and hard to find), I'd try this:
Sinus Buster: Hot Pepper nasal spray (http://www.sinusbuster.com/?gclid=CPj5h83Zh5gCFQE0xgod7ymL_g)

We just finished eating and I think I made the best pot of soup I have ever cooked. Potato and leek with ham. Started the bones and smoked hocks cooking at 1pm today. Made homemade sourdough rolls. Uhhhh... Full bellies and a gallon left over for the fridge and the freezer.
