Buncha snow headed this way in our neck of the woods tonight. Not horrific, 3-6 inches, but depending on the timing it could screw up school tomorrow. :censored:
I am looking at a day of cleaning stuff. I have to venture forth to get the special cat food from the vet and pick up water softener salt at some point. By Gum I lead an exciting life! :-)
I may actually go hit the range again today or Friday and see if I can't get some muscle memory back so I don't suck as bad at league next week.
I am also trying to figure out what I want to stuff in the crock pot for dinner. A forray into the big freezer beckons.

Ah. Thought it was some sort of kitchen appliance accessory to let everyone know you had such an appliance. Down south we just put 'em on the front porch. :-)

Snowed for a bit this morning, and now the sun is out. Nothing exciting on the agenda today.

Desk cleaned out. Task Force truck cleaned out. Most cases closed....only leaving a Theft/frame swap and a frameswap/Insurance Fraud for my replacement. As of about 11:00 am tomorrow, the new guy will have the truck, the laptop, the radio, and the county cell phone (electronic leash). I do have a bunch of old stuff to get to the shredder though, but, after that, I'm just a straight-up beat cop again. Lower stress, regular hours.....Woo-Hoo!

Little more snow overnight, but more freezing rain on top of it, so no use trying to shovel/snowblow the driveway before heading to work.
Switching schedules because they decided to put me in training. So I go home around midnight, get up at 6 (late for normal shift), stop by the lab for bloodwork, and get to training by 9, then stay until 5:30 tomorrow night, where I will officially be a friggin zombie. At least I won't be there until midnight.
Looks like the snow which was forecast for this weekend won't be coming through now.

The weather out here in the vast Sandhills of Nebraska is incoherent.
About 16 degrees, no wind, grey, thickly overcast, but no prediction of snow.

We had a pretty good snow squall this morning, as I was going to work. Damn near whiteout conditions, from what I heard. I do know that visibility was down to 1/4 mile or so. But, as I was bringing The Heiress out to the car so I could get her to daycare, she stuck out her tongue and tried to catch snowflakes. I sure hadn't taught her that, and when I asked my wife later, found that she hadn't done that. The kid's smart. I'm done for. :beer: :beer: :beer:

I had the weirdest dream before I woke up. I was walking past a single-level ranch house that had a sign on the outside that read "Free Show 10:00". It was a little after 10, and the curtains on the front window were open. It was a group of young women putting on a burlesque show dressed as Disney characters.
I need to stop eating before bed.

It is a beautiful day out here in the DFW area. Although that isn't so good for me because the bright sun really bothers my eye because of the dilation.
I have to go to the grocery store later but first I have an appointment at 1:00. I should be cleaning my house but I don't feel like it. I am doing laundry at the moment.

Yes, it's beautiful today. It's sunny and 62 right now, and I'm actually in a pretty good mood right now.
I have quite a bit of work to do today so I'm gonna be busy later. Right now I'm watching the switchboard while the receptionist is at lunch, which means an hour to hour and a half of paid goofing off.

My little sister did that once, with damned near the same outcome: trying for red hair, her straw blond came out MAROON.
She hated me, because until it wore off I would always quote Bugs Bunny around her: "What a maroon!"

Yeah. I'll be glad to get away from the B.S., the stress, the surveillance, the odd hours, being on-call 24/7, and banging my head against the wall with the D.A. that doesn't want to take any case that doesn't have a written confession or a videotape of the offense. I'm one of those weird people that actually enjoys Patrol. Thing is, after a year back on the street, I know I'll missing my Task Force gig and will want to come back.....but, alas, it's only a 3 year gig. It's such a cherry jpb that everyone want it, so I'll never make it back out here. On the bright side, at least I'm not a Traffic Monkey writing tickets all day.

My wife is telling me that The Heiress, according to the day care monitor, is trying to say two-syllable words. None of the other kids in her "class" are anywhere near that, according to the monitor. Said monitor says that she could see The Heiress as one of those "gifted" students. :o

It's a co-workers birthday Saturday, so I'm gonna make cupcakes tonight to bring in tomorrow. I'm gonna do red velvet with cream cheese frosting. :-)

Mia....the problem is when you get gray hair and don't want to be gray. From the accident I was in when young, the whole left side of my head is pretty much white.
No pics....M said the color has a resemblence to the color of a baboon's ass..... :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:
I use a copper color usually, and I grabbed a ruby.....suckiest "ruby" I've ever seen.... :bawl: I grabbed it because it was the same model's pic on the front that used to be on the color I used.... :thatsright: :thatsright:

Red velvet cupcakes...mmmm...went to a place when I was visiting my Dad called Sprinkles. Got one of those red velvet cupcakes.
I didn't know there was a place in the world that sold shots of frosting. I have lived too sheltered a life.

I got a raise today.
They are sending me to school starting the 17th of this month for some certification.
I just started in June...with no experience in this field. They hired me for my "people & leadership skills" :lmao: They had hundreds of applications, interviewed almost 100, and then hired me....
I work my ass off. :-) I build sales and make customers happy. So happy they have been telling their friends, and our district office. :o It's just a little Fortune 100 company.

I got a raise today.
They are sending me to school starting the 17th of this month for some certification.
If I pass the test, up to three more raises will kick in. It will make me fully certified with the State of Nevada in my field, plus a sought-after national certification.
I work my ass off. :-)
