Title: Tuesday. 8am. Do you know where your garden weasel is?
Post by: asdf2231 on January 06, 2009, 08:06:26 AM
Yucky grey day with a chance of a little snow. (In other words Wisconsin :-) )

Went out for a really nice dinner last night and got new shoes on the way home last night. We went to a Tapas place where they serve little dishes that you all share. The chocolate fondue dessert was the best thing I have had in a restaurant in a looooong while.

Going to sit down today and get together a schedule for the rest of the month and maybe watch a movie with my cats.  It's nice now that school has started up again.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

:)

Enjoyed my one day of peace and quiet yesterday, and the kids are home again today, snow/ice day.  Fun times.

My daughter dragged herself out here a bit ago, but has since disappeared back to her room, and the boys are playing Super Smash Brothers on the Wii.

Gonna do some laundry today, maybe some baking.  Nothing too exciting.

Pretty quiet at work today so I'm getting on with some dull but necessary admin tasks. I love tapas there are so many varieties and each area of Spain has local specialities.

You just keep yer dirty little mind off'n my "Garden Weasel".   :naughty:

I was in the office yesterday for a total of about two hours, mostly gathering up work, and holding the hands of those who needed attention.  The hospital scheduled follow-up appointments for Lorianne fairly thick and heavy yesterday, so add in the false alarm of taking Joshua to school only to discover that there was no school yesterday, and we did a lot of running around yesterday (at least a hundred miles or so before I was able to collapse into my easy chair at home, break out the laptop, and begin working on the work I'd brought home).

At least today, I have there advantage of there actually BEING SCHOOL for Joshua.

WTH does this thread have to do with Garden Weasles? Besides my 1975 Troy-Built Horse tiller ate it for lunch. (seems to be a food theme?)

Yeah, but you need my John Deere tractor after anything more than a couple of hours of horsing that cast iron bitch around the yard, doncha?

Swing shift is wonderful.  Get up at 9 am and not feel the least bit guilty.  Getting ready for work in a few minutes, and then shoveling some more snow out of the driveway before it snows tonight (don't ask).  No weasels in the yard, just a few squirrels and the occasional fisher you hear at night (looks like a weasel, but sounds like a cat screaming, and a lot meaner).

Feeling much better today....even though I was up all night doing reports...but at least they are done, and nothing's due today...2 tomorrow.

Went and got a haircut and came right back home....it's really miserable out. Still raining, weather guy said we are to get "somewhere between 2-5" more today, depending on where you live"....not supposed to stop raining until snow Thursday. Apparently the city/county road crews have been out since last night checking for flooding and downed trees....due to the recent years of drought, a lot of trees have had their root systems "shrink up" and because the ground is so saturated, trees are falling all over the place. Fortunately, there isn't an wind.

But at least it's no where near as bad as what he said the NW is going to get...up to 10 INCHES of rain or A FOOT AND A HALF of snow, depending on whether one is on the coast or inland.  :o

Might be tough for Gore to keep going around talking about global warming if this continues.  :uhsure:

I'm at work.  I finally finished up with 2008 today, so I'm packing away all my files from my desk.   :-)

I had my first accounting exam this morning, and I think I did okay.  Other than that, just the usual stuff going on, which isn't much today.

I don't usually post stuff to the previous month, except in Jan (into Dec).  It's the way dealerships run.  The payables for the previous month isn't cut off until the 10th.

I'm just glad that I get to get all this stuff outta my office and get my 2008 files all boxed up.  I'm not looking forward to making all new files for 2009 though.  :(

We've had almost 2.5" inches of rain today......it's been dark since 4pm.  :badmood:

I don't have time to build an Ark.....anybody have a rowboat or a raft they can overnight to me?

Work was above average, as far as business was concerned.   But it still dragged on slowly.  :(

After work, I went to A T & T to pay my bill, and I ended up bringing this home as there was a sale and my contract was still eligible:

LG Shine (http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=LG+Shine(TM)&q_sku=sku1130019)

Isn't that a neat phone?!

I'm still looking for an option to my Treo.... :censored:

It's a tad on the heavy side (lots of shiny metal goodness), but my cheap plastic Nokia was having too many problems:  Too slow, phone numbers kept vanishing, freezing screen, and so on. Go try the phone out, if you get a chance.  It's very nifty and fun (and EASY to use).  All LG's are 50% off at AT &T right now.

Chris, one of my co-workers, has a red Shine and I fell in love with it while playing around with it and other workers' phones, trying to get an idea of what kind of replacement I wanted.  The Shine won out.  However, I decided silver was better. :)

I got a sailboat sitting on the trailer for the off season.  If yer vehicle has a tow package, yer welcome to back up and hitch up.

I'd watch out for kelp beds though.

Thanks, Darlin' for the offer of assistance.....but since we just got another .5 inch since and there's red and orange on the Doppler screen about 3 miles from me....I don't think I can make it to your part of the country in time.

The creekbed out back is overflowing. Our driveway looked like a river a couple of hours ago. Local news stations are telling people to just stay in tonight as the flash flood watch that was to end at 6:30 pm has been changed to a warning and extended into tomorrow sometime.

Chattanooga and south towards Atlanta are under a tornado watch. Weird, weird weather.

The deluge continues.  I'm soaked. (http://www.clipartof.com/images/thumbnail/1900.gif)

My day went poorly.  At least the department manager is too busy to notice it took me nearly three hours to complete something that should have taken sixty minutes.  You can only type 'switchport mode access' so many times until it starts to twist and turn in your brain as you wonder why you can't assign a freakin' IP address to any port on your newly-installed expansion card.  Holy crap, do I feel dumb.

We're drowing over here, too....over an inch since 7pm and it isn't slacking up any. It's just going from heavy to heavier.... :o

News just said there is flooding everywhere.

I'm supposed to go do an interior shoot tomorrow and show houses....and the rain isn't supposed to quit until Thursday.

They just reiterated on the news to treat this as if a bad snow storm....stay inside.

Apparently there is a lot of road flooding and in the dark, it's impossible to tell how deep and the police and fire dept have been out all evening rescuing people.

Mud slides and roads are washing out too.....
