Obama picks Leon Panetta as CIA head: reports
Jan 5 03:44 PM US/Eastern
US president-elect Barack Obama has chosen former lawmaker and White House chief of staff Leon Panetta to head the Central Intelligence Agency, US media reported Monday.
YHGTBSM...
What's Lanny Davis new Job going to be ?
so much for "change". This really resembles a remake of the Clinton Admin. Old faces, old ideas.
The Democrats haven't had any new faces or ideas in, oh, about 40 years.
if only because the hopelessly insane usually don't think about politics much.
Thank God for this!
Now we will be safe if Al-Qaeda tries to blow anybody in the oval office. :whatever:

Taken by surprise was Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., incoming chairwoman of the Select Senate Intelligence Committee.
"I was not informed about the selection of Leon Panetta to be the CIA director. I know nothing about this, other than what I've read. My position has consistently been that I believe the agency is best-served by having an intelligence professional in charge at this time," Feinstein said in a written statement. Yes, unlike Babs Boxhead, Feinstein is at least semi-reasonable and almost intelligent, about 1 percent of the time.
Yeah, it certainly is. Another Clinton year for us.Ah, no.
Ah, no.
These people are figureheads. Their input in their respective positions (except for maybe mrs. clinton) will be summarily ignored. the nre fuhrer's eminence grice handlers will be calling the shots. These clintonistas are so happy to have the positions and the trappings of power they will happily sit in the chairs in the meeting rooms while soros, ayers and wright call the shots.
The Clinton Administration inner circle moving back into the whitehouse. Any more coincidental appointments and I'm beginning to smell a "puppet" Presidency. Wonder what kinda back room agreements/threats brought this about..

Other Democrats were also throwing their support behind Panetta.
Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., said Panetta brings fresh leadership to the intelligence community.
"Leon Panetta has a long and distinguished career in public service and there are few people of whom I have a higher opinion," he said in a written statement.
"He has been a strong voice opposing the interrogation practices authorized by the Bush administration and he is well-equipped to restore our national security, which has been undermined by the current administration's policies," he added.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Silvestre Reyes, D-TX, called the Panetta pick "sensible and said that he was "time-tested" and "highly qualified.
"His ability to build coalitions and work across all elements of government will make him a good partner for the Director of National Intelligence," he said in a written statement.
I thought the same thing yesterday when I heard this -- total joke appointment. Panetta is completely unqualified for this job.
What does a dweeb like this do the first day on the job? Saunters in at a little after 9 a.m., has his coffee and chitchat while they sweep him through security.
Then, after a couple of introductory meetings with the people who really DO make things happen at CIA, he is relegated to his office in relative isolation.
The CIA know how to deal with this idiot. Like a mushroom, they'll keep him in the dark and feed him bullshit. That will leave Panetta time to figure out how to make himself look useful and on top of things.
NRO thinks Obama wants him there as a confident to protect his ass and nothing more. He is grossly unqualified for the position, but he will do well as Obama's yes man.
Not good.
We should invest heavily in canned foods and shotguns
I had no idea he is a former Army officer -- just a few years, but very interesting.
From a resume stand point, I'd consider him as qualified as Bush senior was. Possibly more so, arguably. I don't know. Prayers be with him and regardless... we should all buy ammo :(
I'm not optimistic, but he may rise to the occasion.
