Went to a new Customer this morning (I do "at home" Computer repair.)
Noticed all the Bush stickers and Flags all over his SUV...thought "Well...to each his own"
Started working on his laptop..
The Guy brings up the Economy..
Says "You know, this economy is really hard on Men but at least Women can do other things"
ME: Oh...I not sure what you mean
HIM: Well, Guys have to work a job to get money but Women can be a Prostitute or a whore and make plenty of Dough.
I thought at first He had just made a VERY poor-taste Joke but then realized he was Serious.
I know what you're thinking,,,What did you say???
I said: "Goodbye and Never, NEVER ****ing call me again..that statement you just made insulted every Women on the Planet"
Him: Aren't you gonna' put my Laptop back together??
Me: You're kidding
I walked out the door with him calling me every name in the book
..As I left, I thought "And People wonder why George Bush has been President for 8 years."
What a disgusting thing to not only say but to actually THINK.

He's wishing he could have what he perceives as so easy that all he had to do was turn tricks. Really. I'm not kidding. I've known men like him. It's a form of vagina envy. It's not based on thinking he's superior. It's based on a deepseated misogyny and he believes that women have power because men desire them. This is the fundamental reason women's power has always been oppressed and suppressed and sublimated. Especially in the Church. Certain types of men fear it.

Hmmm..
A new customer, first time service call and he's out with the screwdriver. On a laptop.
Why would he be pulling the laptop apart unless he needed to replace parts, and if he needed to replace parts, He'd have to have been there before and actually , yanno , diagnosed the faulty part...ordered the part, waited for it to be delivered, ....
I wouldn't want this DUllard anywhere near any of my electronic gear.

And that is why they will be complaining about losing all their worldly possessions in an economic downturn. Now, assuming this story was true (And that is a BIG assumption), a rational person would just humor the customer. It is easy to avoid pursuing such conversations without pissing off your customer. As long as they pay me, I don't care if they are racist, misogynist, misanthropic, or just plain stupid. I'll keep my opinions to myself, provide my services, and take their money. Apathy can be a useful tool when applied to the right situations.
