37. You said it

Most of the "legacy" folks are long gone, and for good reason. The nannies and the hall monitors and the plain imposters here must be proud of themselves. They've silenced the strongest voices at DU, or driven them away in disgust. Speaking of which, where is TomInTib these days?

60. Stephanie, I really like TominTib. He's cool.

Even if I sometimes disagree, he's a nice guy, and a pleasure to talk with.

I didn't check your profile before writing, but if you're Stephanie from NY, you rawk, and you have for a long time now.

Truthfully, I have to admit that I've been a "nanny" more than once, usually when people are just plain beating up on the kid of some Republican. If the kid chooses to make themselves the story, fine. If they're over 18, fine. When they're little (like Rick Santorum's little girl,) it makes me sick to read some of the crap. We wouldn't stand for it if it was written about Malia or Sasha Obama; why do we think a defenseless kid should get a world of crap because of who their parents are?

I really don't have an opinion about the subject du jour, other than the fact I'm completely disgusted that the young woman in question will probably most likely not get a high school diploma, let alone a college education, because she's now a pawn for her mother's ambition. IMHO, YMMV.

I think those who have been here for awhile eventually hit the wall. In my case, I just got sick and tired of writing, faxing, e-mailing, calling and meeting with my representatives, only to discover they don't give a shit what we all think on any subject. Be sure and contribute to their campaigns, though! I think the last straw for me was FISA.

I hope the New Year is wonderful for you and yours.
Julie

The primitives wouldn't be so clueless if they spent some more time around here, and less time on Skins's island.

This primitive is a big Deaniac who spent a great deal of time over at the other "site which shall not be named" called P4C.  Lives in Michigan, claimed to be big into fundraising, knocking on doors for candidates, etc...  Took a while but it seems she finally figured out that her reps don't listen to whackos but want their votes and their money.  The other primitives who read what she wrote ........ WHOOSH!!!! ....... right over their tiny little heads.  They still BELIEEEEEEEVE!!

I'm hoping that they are really clueless and not as anti semitic as TiT has shown himself to be.

This is a case and point situation where censorship is gonna bite the Admin in the ass.  If they had left the offending post (even the stuff that was qouted at least) no one would be questioning the call, and they wouldn't have to deal with stuff like this.

Way to go DU Admin.  Your idiocy brings us much laughter.
