Oh my.

At long last.

A new bonfire in the automotive forum of Skins's island.

It's been a while.

A very long while.

Oil in the air filter?

I am getting oil in the air filter. The air filter is saturated at one point. It appears to be the point where the thermo valve comes in.

Is this serious? Could something be done to the thermo valve, or replaced to stop it.

I changed the PCV Valve and some hoses. Thanks in advance for any help!

2. 1977 Toyota Pick-up.

20R engine, 4 cylinder.

Like I said, the oil comes in at one point. I don't think I can get the thermo valve replaced, or the air filter assembly. Parts store and the dealer no longer carry them. I cleaned the carburetor, and it now seems to stay clean.

SO, now I am wondering if the thermo valve/Hot air intake can be adjusted?

Did you notice the connection between this thread and this earlier one?

Sounds like this dummie bought a truck with worn pistons or bad rings!

I'm thinking that they decided to "top up" the oil. Right to the threads on the filler cap.

I dunno LC we're talking about a 30 year old vehicle here. I still suspect worn pistons or rings.
