Title: Monday. Does your Cowgirl have the blues?
Post by: asdf2231 on December 29, 2008, 09:19:24 AM
Obscure literary referance in the title.  H5 to whoever gives the book title first. 2nd H5 to whoever can name the actress in the adaptation.

Feeling marginally better today. My daughter is catching whatever I got now though. Greater Joy.

My wife went back to work today after most of a week on vacation. The house seemed a little empty today. :(  Trying to get better today is the main agenda item.  I might have to run out for some essential grocery items at some point.

I got my New Years Eve meal stuff all bought already.  Double smoked bone-in ham! Gonna be gooooood.

Anybody traveling for New Years?

I'm travelling.  I'll be on the road to Atlanta after 7 pm tonight to go see family for a few days.  We'll be spending New Year's in Chattanooga this year, do a little site-seeing and go to the Tennessee aquarium, as my sis, brother-in-law and nephew have never been there (they're coming into town tomorrow :yahoo: )  Might also go to some caverns. (Ruby Falls). :)

Now, I'm off to work.  :(

Even Cowgirls Get The Blues by Tom Robbins.
Uma Thurman was in the movie.

35 degrees this morning, but the sun is shining.  Ham or us on New Years Eve, which by chance is our 19th anniversary.

I used my Hertz points to get a Corvette for 2 weeks.

Driving to San Diego tomorrow (great weather -- top down)  and will stay at the SD Marriott (on points also) on Mission Bay.  Gonna do the SD trifecta: Sea World, SD Zoo, SD Wild Animal Park.  Back on Friday.

It should be fun.

I did (lived and stationed there).  After my first Westpac I lived in a one-bedroom hovel/condo in Point Loma.  I think I paid $600 a month rent.  Now, even with the collapse of the housing market, those condos are going for over $150K.  Rue D'Orleans...ah...good times.

The sun is out!!!! :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:

I'm caught up on work except for some emails....another  :bouncy:

It's been suggested to me that we clean the garage today.... :(

We're staying home this week. We'd talked about going to NOLA, but neither of us could get very fired up about it. Then we talked about Tunica.....for a little gambling. Finally decided to stay home and do some projects around here.....like the garage, closets, our offices.... ::)

Have you ever stayed at the SD Marriott? We're going there in August. SR got tickets for us to the Hannity Freedom concert. Can't wait. I think I'll get a membership to the SD Zoo. I found it was cheaper buying the membership, so I could have free entrance to the zoo and wild animal park, than paying individual fees. It might have changed, but it was a better deal a few years back.

Have fun.

Did  the neccesary running aorund I had to do this morning, and since my daughter was sweet enough to come along for company (mostly I think she didn't want to be stuck home with the boys!  :-)), I offered to pick up her boyfriend and let him hang at our house for the afternoon.
They are all playing the Wii and watching movies.

Pizzas (homemade) are on the menu for dinner tonight.

I will be traveling on New Years Day, but just a couple hours.  I'm heading into DC to visit my sister and her family, and do our Christmas exchange.

Yeah, I'll be taking off sometime late afternoon, early evening, Wednesday, January 31.

I anticipate on being back sometime, any time, January 2nd.

But that's a couple of days away yet.

I used to go there to rent cars when I was working in SD, but I haven't stayed there before.  Until recently I couldn't get in with points only.

They have a 3-in-1 purchase for Sea World, the Zoo and the WA Park that is about $100 -- perfect for my purposes.  But if I was just going to the Zoo and WA Park, you are right, the membership is the best deal.

Frank, have you decided which direction you will head this New Year's Eve to continue your "under a poor man's roof" tradition?

Okay, I made it home, y'all.

I do not, I repeat, I do not like being the "bologna" in a semi-trailer sandwich on I-85. That just about gives me a heart attack everytime it happens.   :o :(

I also had my 2nd Christmas, and got quite a few practical gifts... lots of cookware for my apartment kitchen ( :hyper: ), and lots of pajamas/nighties. ( :innocent: ).   My favorite gift won't be here until tomorrow (my nephew) but I will be patient.
