Title: Eagles Playoff bound
Post by: lars1701c on December 28, 2008, 07:18:26 PM
What a game.

I have not seen a cowboy ridden so hard since Broke back mountain  :lmao:

Why does Romo (and the cowboys) choke in December? they are 0-8 in the last game of the season since 2000

Want to send a shout out and thanks for the Raiders for beating the Tampa bay buccunqueers :)

On to Minnesota, I think you are going to see what 8 men in the box looks like cause thats what the Birds will do.

The vikings are the text book definition of a 1 dimensional team.

The iggles wanted it.  The cowboys want to coddle jerks like pacman and TO.

It all worked out as it should.

Now, yesterday's Eagles has a real shot at going to the Superbowl.  Last week's Eagles will get sodomized and left curled up in a ball, sucking their thumb.  It's gonna be a fun being on edge for weeks wondering which team will show.

LOVE THE PHOTO SHOP :)

truer words were never spoken, it all comes down to Andy reid being a slave to his all throw offense. When they run the ball they win but fat ass does not like to do that, so if they dont establish the run next week its going to be over :(

If I was Jery Jones I'd have Wade Phillips trying to hitchhike a ride back to Dallas on a horse-drawn Amish buggy. I've never seen a coach do so little with so much in the history of the NFL. Wade Phillips has managed to take a group of all-pro players and turn them into a mediocre team. I wish Jerry would fire his ass, then try to lure Bill Cowher here before someone else gets him.

No it was not wade phillips fault. This is just a hunch but the moment you got TO your team went to hell, he just destroys teams he goes to. I seen this first hand in Philly.

The Philly loss itself wasn't necessarily Wade's fault, but the Cowboys' mediocrity throughout the entire season certainly is. If he had gone 9-7 with substandard talent, I'd think he was OK, but the fact is that the Cowboys are loaded with talented INDIVIDUALS that aren't worth a shit as a TEAM. That's a coaching problem.

Bob Ford: A look at the decline in Westbrook's numbers
By Bob Ford
Inquirer Sports Columnist

[excerpt]

Brian Westbrook thought about the question, and he probably thought about several different answers he could provide.  One of the best all-purpose backs in the NFL, if not the best, Westbrook has occasionally become an afterthought in the Eagles' offense this season, with production far below the career numbers he posted in 2007.

The offense has stuttered and stumbled at important junctures during the season, most recently during the late loss against Washington, in which Westbrook carried the ball just a dozen times.

Why does Westbrook's role disappear sometimes - to the consternation of fans, of some of his teammates, and, one would think, of Westbrook himself?

"I don't have the answer for that," he said. "I just don't have the answer."

[snip]

No, a combination of things this season has marginalized Westbrook. In no particular order:

The middle of the offensive line, with the absence of all-pro guard Shawn Andrews, was thin and not overly talented, a situation exacerbated when Max Jean-Gilles broke his leg Nov. 27...

Westbrook has been gimpy for much of the season...

Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg fell in love with the versatility and explosiveness of rookie receiver DeSean Jackson, whose 62 receptions made him the first wide receiver to lead the team in catches since Terrell Owens in 2004...

Jackson is a rookie.  And a bonehead.  The ball should still go to Westbrook first, and most often.  Or we'll go the way of the dinosaurs.

They hold Westbrook to 30 yards all game long, and ONE screen play to him in the fourth and it's game over.  What'd I tell ya!   Never a moment's doubt.  :cheersmate:

I wouldn't mind seeing the Iggles go to the Superbowl, then have their dreams crushed by either that Chargers or Titans. Although I think Phillip Rivers is a choad-huffer, I still like L.T. and Norv Turner.

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of drunken driving.

Jackson failed sobriety tests shortly after 2 a.m. on state Route 52 in San Diego, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ray Scheidnes. He said he didn't know Jackson's blood alcohol level.

An officer stopped Jackson after spotting the player braking abruptly, speeding and weaving in a 2008 GMC Sierra, said Highway Patrol Officer Brad Baehr. Jackson was on probation for a previous DUI arrest, he said.

Meh. Every team in professional sports has its shitbags. More so for my Cowboys. I don't know why Jerry Jones keeps trying to get himself a thug on the cheap. It never really works out that well.

WE don't know what else Eli Manning got for his 28th birthday, but his wife gave him a sexy lap dance. The Giants QB and teammates Shaun O'Hara, David Diehl, Amani Toomer, Brandon Jacobs and Kevin Boss hit Tenjune on Little West 12th Street Friday. After a few rounds of tequila shots, our spy said Eli's wife, Abby (above), "gave him a special lap dance" while Beyoncé's hit, "Single Ladies," blared. "They were trying to hide, but everyone on the dance floor could see them."

eagles choke again  !!

mcnabb sucked in the first 1/2 & thats what cost the Eagles , again.,...

Jim Johnson screwed up too...

he actually bought into the notion ASSante samuel was really worth 60 million bucks & actually could cover Fiztgerald 1 on 1 ....

bwahahahahahahaaaa....

so  its not all mcnabbs fault , I lay equal blame on whoever paid 60mil for samuel in the first place & gave jim johnson a false sense of security ...

the eagles played the cards better when samuels was on the bench earlier in the year, because they played them smarter...

Cards will win the SB...

I guess you missed those two interceptions samuel had in the first two playoff games? both led to TD's

The reffs missed some pretty big penalties in that game. NOT to mention Aikers missing a FG and a extra point.

Mcnabb had a pretty good game considering what he has to play with, no good wide receivers at all. in the all the games he has played here only TO was his only true marquee WR had

The cards have no chance on winning

I wish the eagles had boulden and fitz.

Samuel dropped a Manning-101-pick in the SB last year costing the Pats the game.    He was too busy thinking about his victory dance to hold on to the damn ball.

He is not worth the price of admission.

That said, you were robbed a first down with a blown pass interference call  -- which was the game.     Refs in the NFL are getting worse every year.  They really need to address this problem.

Fitz & Bolden are to kurt warner, what Terrell Owens & D Stallworth were to D MCnabb 4 years ago...

the eagles have PLENTY of talent at WR  right now ...unless you think Tom Brady won 3 superbowls with something similar to T.O., Fitz &  Boldin at WR ?? .......problem is, Mcnabb can't  throw the ball into his WR's  bread basket often enough to win big games...

nearly 1/2 of mcnabbs  throws were off target  against the cards, thats why they lost...

mcnabb should only be throwing 50-60% of the time, instead REids offense has him throwing 70% of the time...

and if you think the steelers Defense is gonna do much better than the Eagles, I think you're in for a big surprise....

as to ASSante samuel's picks ...

look who they were against .... Tavaris Jackson & Eli Manning  ...both INTs were actually  setup by  Jim Johnsons play calling & both QB's that threw the 2 terrible passes right into Smauels hands were under BIGTIME pressure by the Eagles blitz ...

I told you before you got samuels, that he was a product of the system & as far as I can see, the same is true since he's been an eagle...

the 3 picks I watched samuels get this year were against Romo, Manning & Jackson....all 3 picks were terrible throws into double or triple coverage & were designed plays by Jom Johnson, not off the cuff reactionary plays produced by Samuels on man coverage...

samuels  covering Fitzgerald man to man showed you what he's capable of as an individual ...nothing...

no pass interference when there is incidental contact  involved while both players are looking back at the ball..

even mike peirera, head of NFL officials, said the very same thing this week on NFL network...

he said it was definitly the right non call, because the cards DB was looking at the ball , not the WR & their feet getting entangled caused him to lose balance & fall onto the WR's leg...

besides, when does Mcnabb & the eagles EVER win a game in the last 2 minutes w/ no timeouts & they need a TD ?? ....   no times this year & I can only think of a couple the last 4 years...

why throw 20 yards when you only need 10 when the Cards are blitzing ??

blame mcnabbs choice of receivers &/or the play call, not the referee's ... ...kevin curtis isn't exactly the guy I'm gonna rely on when the game is on the line... he should've been looking for Avant or his TE.... not a 5 foot nothing WR 20 yards downfield on an out pattern....

his forearm landed on the back of curtis's calf...

I doubt curtis would've caught it anyway, because mcnabb rushed the pass a hair do to the cards blitz...

and  I guess it wouldn't have mattered if the eagles weren't behind by 7 points either...don't you think !! ...

the eagles were behind for 90% of that game, they didn't deserve to win...

He grabbed his leg, which was bullshit.    The flag should have been thrown.   If it were the Colts it sure as heck would have been.

Doesn't matter if they were behind 99% of the game.   This is a playoff game in football.   Refs can't blow calls like that.

and in playoff football, nitpicky flags aren't thrown anymore....you are correct ... not since Lynn Swann was given 50 yards against the Cowboys DB who got tangled up in his legs....

& in the eagles/cards case, thats a good thing because it wasn't pass interference...

I don't know what kinda glass's you have on, because nowhere do I see the Cards DB grabbing lil' curtis's leg...

I didn't see it when I watched the game live, or in any replay...

why don't you watch rebroadcasts of all the superbowls of the past they're featuring on NFL network right now...

tell us how many face masks, late hits, holds, roughing  & PI's  you see go uncalled & then compare the play in the cards/eagles game you seem to think caused the eagles to lose ....

then I'm sure you will realize that non PI call was nothing....

then again, lets say it was a penalty ...and perhaps the Zebras didn't call it on purpose ??

well GOOD...   maybe the NFL is sick n tired of arlen specter trying to tell them what to do ??

either way, the eagles were just another  team w/ a pathetic record that didn't belong in the SB either...
