It is getting to be that time of year to reveal the Top 10 DUmmies of 2008. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all who voted. This year’s voting completely blew away each of the past few years.
As evidenced by the results, it was extremely difficult to make the Top 10. There were simply so many competitors. Thankfully, we’ve been able to pare down the list to determine the cream of the DUmmy crop for 2008. This thread will reveal those who just missed the Top 10. But not to worry, the Top 10 will be revealed later this week.
For now, here are your “Honorable Mention†DUmmies of 2008.

I don’t recall exactly when $kimmer started using Adbot, but the most prolific poster at the DUmp surely made a splash in 2008. Often ridiculing the DUmmies, Adbot consistently confounded the primitives and provided immense humor to all of us.

Ad for making $5,000 working from home.
I'm thinking we should not have that ad running. During times if high unemployment there are always ads that take money from the unemployed, money they do not have to spend, by appealing to their desperation.
Whether it is some technical school, or list of government jobs, or books and tapes on how to start your own business, they play on the fact that people are desperate to get some kind of income. I hate those ads! I've fallen for them. I bought Tony Robins tapes many years ago on how to start your own business and be successful.
His business idea was for you to sell his tapes to more fools just like me!

You know, sites like RawStory, HuffingtonPost, Truthout, MediaMatters, TalkingPointsMemo, etc. Inevitably, the DUmmies just read her cross-posting thread titles and K&R them to death as if there were actual evidence to any semblance of truth. This freak must have a google alert system that finds the moonbattiest stories.

Likely the second most prolific poster at the DUmp (behind the almight AdBot, of course), “Name Removed†has a special place in our hearts. Unlike most message boards, the Nazi-like moderators at the DUmp lock & remove posts constantly. They can’t have any contrary information posted, no sir.
I’d post some examples of the great posts by “Name Removedâ€, but by definition, they’ve all been flushed.

And some of us watch the primitives as a public service.
I've explained this all over the DUmpster, but for the convenience of lurking primitives, I'll explain it again.
(a) We do not set the standards for primitives.
(b) Primitives set the standards for themselves, themselves.
(c) Primitives allege themselves to be better than decent and civilized people.
(d) Are primitives actually better than decent and civilized people?
Places such as P-J Comix's most-excellent DUmmie FUnnies, our old home, and the DUmpster and DUmping Ground here, try to answer (d) by applying (a), (b), and (c).
Sort of like how Consumer Reports tests products, to see if they're what they claim to be.
That's all we're doing; testing the alleged quality, to see if it's up to snuff.
Just like Consumer Reports.
That's all we're doing, is providing a public service.
And when the primitives fall about three planets short of being what they allege themselves to be, that's not our fault, as the primitives themselves set the standards for themselves.
