Title: Tuesday December 23 thread
Post by: franksolich on December 23, 2008, 06:40:23 AM
Ooops, no one's around.

Happy Tuesday!

The temperatures are soaring here in the Sandhills of Nebraska this morning; I was so startled by the phenomenon that I kept my eye on the thermometer, watching the mercury move upward, upward.

It's now 19 degrees.

It feels like Miasma Beach.

By the way, does anyone else remember the custom at our old home, where as members took off to go away for the holiday, they started a "taking off" thread in the lounge, and garnered many good wishes from other members?  (It was great for post-whoring too, if one's into that.)  How about we do this, beginning today?

Sounds good, Frank.

Warming up to 34 here, today.  My daughter is off shopping with a friend for the day (well, she's not shopping, just along for the company, 'cause she doesn't have any money).  The boys are playing Zelda.

I'm all set for Christmas.  It's just the 5 of us this year...I'll get together with my sister on New Year's Day.

It's up to 24 here this morning...sun is out.

Weather is to get warmer and the rains are coming in....thunderstorms predicted tonight.

Trying to finish up 3 reports this morning.  Then have to hit Sam's and the grocery for the rest of the stuff I need for tomorrow night's dinner. There will be 10 of us, and a couple more coming in late for leftovers.

Going to Christmas morning brunch....have to make sticky buns and gorilla balls for it.

Snow, snow, snow!

All today and through tomorrow. Probably another 7 inches when it is all done. I could stand a little global warming right about now.

A few errands to run yet today but it feels very much like Christmas around here. :)

We will be hanging out and taking it easy.  My daughter and I have a traditional thing we do where we go see a movie on Christmas Eve together every year.

It's clearly not going to be a productive day today.

I do have to hit up Target today while I'm "at the bank" for a gift for my baby nephew.  He's so little and quiet I totally forgot about him   :thatsright:

I think I might be going to happy hour tonight, if Sweet Dee is still up for it.   :-)

We will be making one last foray to Walmart today for some last minute things.  Then I'm done with going to any store at least until next Monday.

Well, my check card dispute is almost over.  The merchant involved called me this morning and is refunding the money to me in the next few days.  :yahoo:  I've got to call the bank later and give them the refund reference #  that they need.

Right now, just sitting here relaxing before I go to work.

Do you do them up in a festive sack?

Well, I hit up Target and got the last of my gifts.  I remember that I needed to buy something for my dad's wife since she gave me all that crap last week (and yes, it was almost all just crap what she gave me).  I found a snow globe with a Santa in it for $10.  lol

Now, I'm counting down to 4pm.  :)

Yep....a biscuit sack with cinnamon sugar, then pour hot butter/brown sugar over them.

Especially when its an amount such as $50.  Some might think that's nothing (my dad, for instance ::)), but for me, its a major loss.  I could use that to pay for my renewal to the REAL anti-virus software I use... TrendMicro.  I know AVG's free, but I think TM is the best pay-for antivirus software you can get.

I have been using it on all our computers for 2 years now.  I love it.
