Okay, my tv is up and running now. So any blonde jokes you wish to make, keep them to yourself. :asssmack:
I really can't wait for the digital switch to take place. The analog channels' quality is horrible. I was watching Transformers on tv a little while ago, and the quality of the channel was terrible. I adjusted the cable to see if it would improve any, and it didn't. :( Comcast Cable did have some digital channels available, and the difference is amazing.
Otherwise, the new Toshiba is a fantastic little tv, perfect for the bedroom. If I get a desktop PC anytime soon, the tv can switch between its normal mode and PC mode, so it can be the monitor.
I also have to get a power strip. I found that the tv was best suited on my desk, next to the laptop. Unfortunately, the one outlet I have is hogged up by the laptop (I keep it plugged in because my lithium battery is pretty much worn out, and I can't find another one, and the cable modem).

For the laptop battery, look at Batteries Plus or EBay. They're out there. You may not want to afford a replacement, though....

I've found some for no cheaper than $75. The only reason I hesitate is that the laptop is over 2 years old (which = ancient in laptop age) and has already had several hundred dollars worth of work done on it (hard-drive crashed, and that caused a lot of trouble).
I've been reading the threads in the computer forum about building desktops, so I might see if there are businesses here that can do that for me (to avoid Vista, mainly, as I have an XP service pack 2 disc that can still be used).
Back to the topic of the tv, I don't have any dvd's available (all at home) to try out the built-in with, so any suggestions for movies I should purchase would be much appreciated, folks. :cheersmate:

Disturbia was pretty good.
BTW, you'd be appalled at my Laptop. It's nine years old, going on ten. I run XP Pro, SP2 on it just fine. It does what I need a laptop to do.

:o
I never got to see Disturbia, but I heard it was good. *writes that down* I like Shia LaBeouf... one of the better young actors today (and the fact I still remember watching him on Disney Channel is a tad disturbing...makes me realize how many years have gone by since those days. :o).

No can do.
A blond is in an appliance store looking around for a TV. She finds a small one she likes and takes it to the checkout. She says "I'd like to buy this TV". The salesman says, "Sorry we don't sell to blonds". She storms out , goes and buys a brunette wig and goes back the next day. Once again she takes her pick to the checkout and says she'd like to buy the TV. Again she is told that they don't sell to blonds. She rips the wig off and asks, "how did you know I was a blond"? The clerk goes, "Because, that is a microwave". :evillaugh:

I found $65 batteries on PriceWatch.com and some as low as $35 on eBay (BuyNow option... I hate that bidding shit).
PM sent.

My laptop is 5 years old I think. It's been running fine, I'd like a new one, but there's no funds for that. *sigh*

Meh, since the hard-drive was replaced in mine ( I still have the old one, if anyone ever wants to see the large crack in it LOL ), my laptop has developed a few annoying little quirks, but I'll deal with it. I'd like to keep it around as long as possible, but given that the WiFi quit working, and the input for my headphones is acting up... it will only let sound into one of the earbuds (which are brand-new), I might not have a choice but to just get a cheap desktop.
I WOULD get a new laptop, but given that MS is working (I think) on a new OS to replace Vista, I'm going to wait. I am NOT getting ANYTHING with Vista in it (and I definitely can't afford a Mac).

Two Blondes With Hammers...
Carol and Donna, were doing some carpenter work on a Habitat for Humanity house. Carol, who was nailing down house siding, would reach into her nail pouch, pull out a nail and either toss it over her shoulder or nail it in.
Donna, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, "Why are you throwing those nails away?"
Carol explained, "When I pull a nail out of my pouch, about half of them have the head on the wrong end and I throw them away."
Donna got completely upset and yelled, "You moron! Those nails aren't defective! They're for the other side of the house!"
he-he :lmao:

I am anticipating the digital switch over too.
