Holiday sex: Christmas season is peak for mating

WASHINGTON — 'Tis the season for making whoopee.
The Christmas-New Year's period produces a year-high spike in sexual activity and conceptions in the United States, according to biorhythm researchers and makers of sex-related products.
They attribute the increase to holiday leisure and New Year's resolutions to have children. New Year's irresolution fueled by alcohol and partying is another contributing factor.
"Right before New Year's Eve is our highest sales peak," said David Johnson, group product manager for Trojan brand condoms, the leading U.S. seller.

Yeah, plus it gets cold at this time of year, and people have to keep warm somehow . . .

I don't have one baby born in the fall and I have 3 of them! Every one born in the spring...apparently me walking about half naked due to the heat is a far greater motivator then the cold. IN fact, when it is this cold, I'd rather just bundle up like a bug in a rug in a comforter or something. There's nobody cracking in the cocoon I create in the winter time. :-)
ETA the captain obvious which means mine were all conceived in the summertime :p

File this under Patently Obvious.

Yeah, I know. But, people spent money to do a study such as this.

My first was a Columbus Day baby (most likely due to Valentine's Day shenanigans). My second is a late June baby and that was my good luck present that I gave my hunter/gatherer prior to going out on the hunt. My third was born in early December..... a St. Patty's Day out in San Francisco that went a little nuts... ok, a lot of nuts. :-)
I don't know if it is incredible that I remember all three occasions or.... if that is perhaps a tad depressing. :-)

Wait?!?!?!?! I was born in SEPTEMBER!

Hey, at least YOUR parents didn't tell you exactly when and where it all happened. My dad got drunk one night when I was visiting and the family was having a big get-together (well, many of the adults were having too much of the wine), and told me, my sis, AND the 15 and 12 year old half-brothers our, um, humble beginnings.
I'm scarred for life. :o :(

Four pregnancies here, all due dates between Sept 1 and Nov 1. My dh, who was married before he married me, fathered 9 children. 8 live births and 1 miscarriage. 8 of the 9 due dates were between Sept 1 and Nov 30.
I can't speak for the his prior relationship, but in our case I don't think there was any more "activity" in the winter. Doesn't heat decrease fertility in men?

Uh.... No - don't think so.

I'm a Christmas conception too.
All of us September borns are.
ACC, at least your dad didn't have pictures.
I'm an early October birth, but since I'm the oldest, it's very possible I was a CC . . .

I have one that's 4/22....and the other is 9/18. The 9/18 was the result of a Christmas party. :uhsure:
