Title: Anyone Have Memories of Texas Stadium?
Post by: TheSarge on December 20, 2008, 07:07:49 PM
Anyone have their favorite personal memory of being at Texas Stadium or watching a particular game from there on TV?

I have memories from there that will always stick with me.

In no particular order:

1) Calling a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the 1997 2-A State Championship game on KBST.

2) Watching MHS beat Tyler Lee in 2002.

3) Finally getting to see a game live last month.

Thanksgiving Day, Dolphins vs. Cowboys, Leon Lett chasing a blocked FG that was recovered by the Dolphins for a TD and the win.

My memories are from a "staff" point of view.  I worked concessions many years at Texas Stadium for non-profit organizations.  I hate the place.  It is a cement hell.

I will laugh when I see it gone.   :innocent:

I saw one game played there (2005?) and I left when it looked like the 'boys were gonna win (against the Redskins).  Then the Redskins scored 2 TDs in, like 2 minutes or something.  But, on the bright side, it was the night they put Aikman, Irvin and Smith on the Ring of Honor.

As far as stadia go, it was an armpit.

I went to a few high school football playoff games there, not things I necessarily want to "remember."

But I did go to the BIG George Straight country festival there my senior year of high school.  It-was-AWESOME!
