My goddaughter is 12--turning 13 next month. I can't think of a thing to get her, and she's being no help!
She has just finished reading the "Twilight" series.
She is really into dance, tap and ballet, mostly.
She plays volleyball.
She's really smart, and a good student.
Gift cards are out, because they often go toward "family" gifts (I hate that!)
Any ideas?

Something she can still use a week after Christmas is over? Okay, I'm no help :loser: but those always turned out to be my favorite gifts.
My niece is 12. I'm screwed, too.

A crappy gift-giving age!!!! :hammer: :banghead:

I got her some portable Nintendo games last year, but it makes me sick to contribute to her being some sort of couch potato. I got her books the year before that. I always like giving books as gifts, mostly because I like getting them.
A couple years ago, a co-worker of mine told me her 12-year-old son was "good" with computers. I gave her a couple of my old Visual Basic books. I remember being 12 and asking the guy at Radio Shack if he had any books on programming... he handed me a book on Assembly language.
Srsly. **** you, Radio Shack Guy. :censored:

There's that girily vampire movie... apparently there's a whole book series about it. I forget the name.

I have a little experience in this area. (Daughters x3 ages 11, 13 & 14)
They like jewelry. (Don't they all no matter what the age! LOL!)
Maybe if you can find some earrings that look like little volleyballs or a charm bracelet that allows you to add charms later. Again here you can go with the volleyball or dance theme with it as well.
You can't go wrong with something like a Disney themed purse (they have some cool Tinker Bell ones at Walmart). Hanna Montana is a good second choice.
Hope that helps.

The name completely slipped my mind. :uhsure:
The Narnia movie(s) were a dissappointment. I'm glad I bought her the books, though.

I like the charm bracelet idea... Thanks, TX.

Talk about OVER commercialized.

My niece got a Hannah Montana video game for Christmas last year. That's what I spend the day doing while dinner was cooking.
