I’d call it the feelgood story of the day except (a) it’s actually seven weeks old and is only now making the rounds, probably because the sheer satisfaction of it has finally sent it viral, and (b) the reason he was surprised is because this wasn’t their first encounter, sadly.

That's a real good story. It would have been better had the criminal been shot the FIRST time!! The comments on that blog are pretty good, but there's a couple of uninformed ones. First of all, a 12 ga shotgun w/ 00 buck WILL go through drywall (http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot3.htm). Secondly, just because hit men use a 22 doesn't mean a normal person should. The shot placement with a 22 is much more critical than with a larger caliber. Furthermore, a 22 won't usually stop someone dead in their tracks.

The real problem with a .22 is not just shot placement as it is with delivering enough shock trauma to the body to stop all bodily functions. You could fire a hundred rounds of .22 at someone and they would bleed to death before they died. Shot someone once or twice with anything bigger then a .32 calibre gun and the shock alone would cause the body to stop functioning. Also the difference in the bullets design has allot to do with making it generate enough shock to do this.

I saw a report of this awhile back on one of the cable channels. They showed a except of an interview with the DA. It was obvious the guy had a hard time from keeping the smile off his face as he talked to the interviewer.

I hope they give her a medal.

Of course this scumbags family has the option of suing her.  :banghead:

if they do, sounds like a natural case for jury nullification.  i honestly see no jury in the country finding any fault with a rape victim shooting her rapist, whether he was trying again or not...

Indeed! This action by the victim, the lady, supports my belief that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store not a bloated federal department.
