Post by: NHSparky on December 16, 2008, 07:14:38 AM
Power back on as of 7:30 last night.  Wo0T!!1!

Snow forecast for today and tomorrow.  Now I have to try to squeeze 30 minutes of work into a 9-hour day.

My work day was pretty rockin.  Briefed more missions then normal, and weather world wide was pretty shitty.  Pilots calling all night long looking for updates.  The shift went really slowly though, which really sucked.  Usually when your busy it goes by quicker.

Salted the  :censored: driveway last night because they forecast sleet/freezing rain.  We got enough precip to get the pavement damp.

Just 4 more days in the office this year!   :cheersmate:

Rain last night and forcast of "wintery mix" for later today and tonight.   My daughter asked if she could go over to "not her boyfriend"s this afternoon....I'll have to see what the weather is doing, I guess.

Plan on heading to the "city" to finish up some shopping, and then I may try to wrap a bit more if Mr Flame got some stuff out of our the hidey hole last night.

It iced somewhat last night and right now there's freezing fog or something.

Anywho, I made it to class on time at 8am this morning...only to find out it was canceled.  Blah, we have a test in there Thursday and I wanted the extra review we were supposed to have today.  So now everyone pray for ice and sleet in Cedar Hill, Texas for Thursday.

So then it took me 45 minutes to get to work today because everything's moving slow.

Later today, I'm reviewing over some econ stuff for my test in there tomorrow.

I just shut the AC off, it was getting a bit chilled in here.  :-)

Strange, strange weather....the west part of the state and between here and Nashville are getting the ice and snow, according to the weather report a half hour ago, yet Lug says he didn't get any.

We're supposed to be in the 50's and raining, but the cold air is creeping further east and our chill temp is at 35...so they said it could turn to ice/sleet.

Supposed to be 69 on Friday and the rain is supposed to quit by then.....and snow on Sunday night.

I think we are starting to come out of the 2-3 year drought.....I'm growing webs between the fingers and toes and looking a tad green from the mildew..... :(

We had freezing rain Sunday night, which left the side streets ice covered. Today there's a light snow falling, and I have to go to the post office to send out Christmas packages.   :censored:

I hope that Thor & Inga are doing okay.  They got more ice up there than here.

It's bitter cold for Texans here in North Texas (Denison). But we got very little precipitation. Very lite freezing drizzle. I'm at the store right now. I think it will be a slippery slide home at 5PM. I hope I make it home OK. Thor's at home where it's warm and snuggle. If it gets to bad I'll just call him to came get me. I just looked out the door and it's snowing lightly. WOOTWHOO :yahoo:

It was just a slow drive from school to work.  It usually only takes like 20 minutes, but took 45 today.  I'm glad to know you're doing fine!

I had a good night's sleep..  The cold is just about done, but one of my ears is still stopped up. :(

I go to work today to closing, but get tomorrow off.  On Friday, store management is throwing us another holiday party and the store manager himself is cooking the turkeys.  I hope he's a good cook. :p  And one of the Aprons' Meals ladies (If you have a Publix, you should know what that is) is making a couple of side-dishes and desserts.

I got my coupon for the free Dr. Pepper in the mail today (anyone else here who actually got through on the website, expect yours to show up this week, at least).  :yahoo:  The envelope it comes in is NOT labeled with the company name (to prevent theft, I guess), so some might think its junk mail.  OPEN IT, don't throw it away.

WOOTAGE!

Slow day here. Packing some x-mas stuff and cleaning.  3-5 inches of snow by morning. :(

Today's been a pretty piss poor day for me. I didn't sleep well last night and I find out my soon to be ex-mother in law passed away early this morning. Then, add in that arctic air from the Arctic Tundra and the weather here is Texas is cold, icy and gloomy. A day where I just want to get back in bed and start all over.

I did three miles today.  I feel good. (http://www.smileyhut.com/fighting/box.gif)  Okay, I got passed up by another jogger, but hey.  That's his thing.

My leg doesn't hurt as much.  This might be a good thing.

Well, that Dr. Pepper coupon isn't quite so easy to redeem.  When I took it to work to be redeemed, they thought it was a frickin' FAKE!  It resembles what they call an internet coupon, one that you can print from a manufacturer's website.

Talk about possibly getting screwed again.  I hope Dr. Pepper is ready for another backlash, because I know for a fact a lot of retailers CLAIM they take internet coupons, but in practice they don't.  :(

As long as they can scan it, they should take it.  Or go somewhere else.  Lots of places around here will take internet coupons as long as it shows up on their register.

A co-worker of mine said to go to the other Publix tomorrow, which I will.  Hopefully an old co-worker who works there now will take it, as she knows the official coupon policy better than anyone.

I've just read too many horror stories about how people take the coupons and get rejected outright without even an attempt to scan it to see if it works.  For example, Wal-Mart is supposedly one of the WORST companies when it comes to that, though their policy states that they DO take internet coupons.

I've been doing a lot of couponing lately to try to help my situation (and it does work, if you know what you're doing and willing to make sacrifices... matching them with sales and all.) and I still get confused about my own employer's coupon policy (especially now that I work in a different department now then I used to when I was a cashier).  :uhsure: :thatsright:

Are you seriously bitching about not being able to get a single free Dr. Pepper?

No, I'm not bitching, just disappointed, and feeling rather sheepish.  I should have realized that they wouldn't make it easy.  :whatever:

I'll send it to the shredder shortly.
