Title: The office non-bouncy
Post by: Chris_ on December 16, 2008, 06:52:03 AM
This time of year it is common for us to receive goodies from vendors and consultants.  They're typically deli trays, dessert trays, etc., and last week we got several breakfast trays from a printer that we use extensively.  They sent loads of chicken biscuits from Chic Fil A.

The office moonbat got really pissed.   :whatever:  Said he refused to have anything to do with Chic Fil A.  I asked why and was told, "I disapprove of their business practices".  Again I asked why and he said, "Businesses should never be allowed to mix with religion!!!!!"  ...steam pouring out of his ears.  "Ah", I said, "it's because they close on Sunday?". "Yes, I should be able to buy a chicken sandwich any day of the week.  Closing on Sunday is just wrong!, he whined.  With that, one of my coworkers appeared from his nearby office and asked, "Where does the Constitution guarantee that?"   :rotf:  P0WN3D

Um, he comes in around 9-9:30, but leaves around 4:00 to make up for it.   :whatever:  Ask him to work on Sat or Sun and expect a lot of  :bawl: and no work.

I've got a moonbat acquaintance that just found out that In & Out burgers, her favorite, puts Bible scriptures on the wrapping.  She flew off the handle about it. Somehow she thinks that is against the Constitution and they should be legally forced to remove them.  Mind you she never knew about this before and would eat there a couple of times a week.  So now she boycotts the best burgers in SoCal.  Last time we were at the same place I brought one and ate it in front of her, as she ranted on I just let out "yumm" grunts and groans....and laughed.

If nobody here has figured it out yet, I have a little moonbat in me.  Yup, I admit it.  I have a bit of the "animal rights" going on.  I found out that KFC's processing plants are in such a hurry to process as many chickens as possible that they're tossing them in the boiling pot before they've bled out, so they're still alive.  So, I refuse to eat at KFC anymore, and I LOVE ChickFilA.  They're clean, friendly and the quality of the food is much better than the other chicken joints.  Not to mention, I love that they're closed on Sunday and aren't a slave to the almighty dollar.

I believe I'm more moonbat than the moonbat on this issue.

Oh, and you are lucky to get those biscuits!!!!!!  I'm jealous.

I'll still eat at KFC knowing that.  If I were an animal rights nut, I'd be more concerned about them being bled out than a quick death in a boiling pot.  Besides, chickens are some of the stupidest animals on the planet.  I don't believe they have the capacity to feel suffering.  Good gosh, they continue to run around when they get their fool heads chopped off!  (Ah, the wonders of being the child of an experienced butcher.)

Having cleaned a chicken coop growing up every Saturday for numerous years, I am all for summery executions for chickens, in an effort to instill better morale.

Yep! We had a big washtub to throw them under after Pop whacked their heads off. Worked really well, we didn't have to chase them around.  :-)

Parker you better give up meat alltogether then because EVERY slaughterhouse that handles volume traffic (IE any place that supplies mcdonalds, supermarkets, burger king, chik fi la, etc.) has on more than one occaison slaughtered an animal that didn't get killed or stunned before the process started. EVERY one.

I just can't bring myself to give much of a shit about a chicken personally.

Well today at Smithfields Chicken and Bar-b-que I noticed a sign......................"We will be closed Christmas Day to worship and be with our families"...............I really liked that place until they had to interject religion into their buisness.  I will never again eat their great Q again..........................well until about 745pm at lunch  :-)

WTF is wrong with people moonbats???

I raise chickens, mostly laying hens but meat birds too, they all free range and are incredibly spoiled and happy right up to the point we shoot them in the head. I assure you, a chicken that is being "bled out" is already dead and it really doesn't take very long. We leave ours hanging only as long as it takes to boil the pot of water to dip them in (it makes feather removal much easier). Plus, they aren't going to stick them in boiling water TO COOK unless they're plucked. Operations like KFC have machines to do that quickly and efficiently. They are completely dead when that happens. Honestly, there's plenty to dislike about KFC's treatment of chickens, especially for someone like me who really enjoys these busy, quirky little birds, but you really have to do a little research before posting something like this.

We had two (or three) office activites canceled due to non-participation since I've been there.  One of the drawbacks of working in a small-ish company.  This is really messing up my chances to schmooze with the IT department.  My usual standoff-ishness excluded.  I COULD have inserted myself into today's conversation, but I didn't think my minor additions would be welcome.

I agree KFC has a dastardly reputation when it comes to "taking care of their chickens", but if you just figure the volume they have to accomplish, anyone with an ounce of sense could figure out it is because of DEMAND!

Maybe if the primitives would quit eating KFC, we could ask KFC to slow down and give the chickens the "RED CARPET TREATMENT"!!! Right before we cut their heads off!

For cryin' out loud, have any of these pukes ever made a stink about the fanatics cutting OUR heads OFF?????

Of course they are freedom fighters, right?
