God Damn Doctors. People who don't live in pain don't know what it is like (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x4658661)
in 1994, I shattered the talonnavicular (sp) bone in my right
>foot. 5 surgeries later over the next two years left me with
>limited motion but functional with some pain. One surgery
>involved removing bone from my hip and grounding it with some
>fake stuff to rebuild that bone. Now 14 years later, I have
>constant pain. My doctor gives me prescriptions for 5 mg
>lortabs 40 at a time when I fill . I take 4 a day and no more than that.
>One at 5:30-6 AM before I start teaching, then I take one at

>My husband says I should not have to suffer and that I should
>call the dr and have him give me enough for 4 a day each

>I do not care if I have to take them for the rest of my
>life because I can at least function and not suffer and cry in
>pain. My daughter would like me to do things with her on the
>weekend, but I hurt so bad, I just don't want to do anything.
>If I did not have to live on tylenol on the weekends, I coudl
>actually do things.
I called today.
I asked if I could do the 5 mg at 5 am and 3 pm
then bump up to 1 or 2 7.5 mg at night
HE says he would rather me not go up in strength
IT IS NOT his ****ing foot he doesn't live in constant pain UGGGGGGGGGGGGG
I am getting my records to a pain management dr and we will see if that helps,
however, it may be Jan/Feb before that happens
Boo ****ing hoo. Your doctor has a MEDICAL degree, you do not. He decides how much pain medication you need. YOU DO NOT. Your doctor does not want you to rely too much on the meds. YOU DON'T GIVE A SHIT, AND ARE PROBABLY ALREADY ADDICTED.
I'd trust the doctor.

She is jonesin' hard for that hydrocodone...f'ing junkie.

What a whiney bitch. Cut the friggen foot off and get a peg.
Gawd, the nerve of some people... :uhsure: :-)

Takin' that much tylenol can't be good for a person.
You can tell she's hooked and her brain is "making up" (for want of a better term) at least some of that pain to force her to satisfy the craving.
The Doc clearly seems to be concerned about this as well or he'd prescribe more.
Course I'm basing my experience on dealing with palliative care doctors not GP's.

Reminds me of House for some reason.

She always posts the same thread multiple times with different titles for more attention

23. Locking
Although the OP was not asking for medical advice, there is a great deal of advice being offered. We encourage you to continue working with the medical professionals of your choice, but are concerned that you may receive advice here which is not appropriate for you.
Hope you get the help you are seeking and that your pain is better managed soon.
Cheers,

15. Try smoking a joint
it might not kill the pain but it will sure take your mind off of it. Nothing worse than taking narcotics on a daily basis. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so go for it.

1. Just take like you want at night and add a good stiff whiskey.
Yeah, that sounds like excellent medical advice. :whatever:

Yep, acetaminophen+alcohol=even greater risk of hepatotoxicity. I concur with deaniac21, greenbriar. Bottoms up!

Yep! Taking that much tylenol can give you kidney failure!
I'm thinin' it's a bouncy!

Remember that the greenbriar primitive is a notorious plagiarizer.
Surely you recall that incident with the legendary herb primitive, "Mythsaje," where she stole something he wrote, and when he complained about it, some of the Primitives of Prominence jumped on him, and not her.

I don't know how people get high on hydrocodone. I've used it for years, by prescription, for chronic pain and I've never felt a high from it.
-
3 1/4 drams - 1 1/8 oz. - no.8 .....used as a suppository will cure any pain.
no,4's to 00 may be better, quicker acting for those with a weight problem.

Well, if that happened, it would clearly be the drug manufacturer's fault! In spite of their directions not to take that many...

DAT, you're using that thing called "logic" again. DUmb****s don't have the slightest clue as to what that is.
As a side note, I was on hydrocodone for a bit. When my back spasmed the day after Columbus Day, bad enough to land me in a local hospital, that's what the ER doc--she looked a tad tired, but she still had more compassion than I thought someone in her position would have--prescribed to me. Then, my PA doubled the prescription, two days later. They put me out like flipping a light switch, but for some reason, I didn't get addicted to them.
