If you inherited a million dollars tomorrow what would you do?
Edited on Mon Dec-15-08 01:48 AM by Truthiness Inspector
Let's say your Aunt Sallie or Uncle Bob left you this money.
How much would you happily fork over to pay taxes, if YOU could decide the amount?

Nice Question. :-)
Watch the DUmmies twist and turn to get out of answering it as asked...
Plenty more over at the link.

3. I'd hire the same tax experts as all the other wealthy folks
And I'd tell you I'd get back to you on my answer after they were done.
And if you think ANYONE would do otherwise.... :eyes:

5. I would pay whatever the going estate tax rate is.
About half. It's unexpected money, why should I complain?

9. I'm not sure, but I believe my husband and I are in the upper
tax bracket.
That would mean we'd pay about 35% of it in taxes...
And that would be fine.

10. If I could decide not only for myself, but everyone else, 75%+ would be about right...
Hell, who needs to inherit money in a capitalistic meritocracy. This would destroy the old-money elite and reconstruct our society, at a price I would happily pay.

"Happily fork over in taxes"......DUmmie answer to everything, ...not one damn dime.

California Piggy has a husband?
I knew he/she was "connected," but I assumed it was his/her boyfriend, not a bona fide husband.
I can't imagine what it must be like, a guy married to a woman who used to be a guy.

Why bother stopping at 75% stupid! Give it all to the federal government! What a ****ing moron! :whatever:

A man and his friend were walking down the road. His friend turned to him and said....
"Hey Bill, if you had two horses, would you give me one?"
"Jim, as good of friends as we are, you know I would."
They walked a little further.
"Hey Bill, if you had two home stereos, would you give me one of them?"
"Jim, why do you even ask? We're such good friends, you know if I had two home stereos I'd give you one."
They keep walking.
"One more question Bill. If you had two cars, would you give me one?"
"Ah Jim, now you know I've got two cars."

"She" has posted pictures of him.
Looks like he has a big Kaposi's sarcoma on his forehead.
Yeah, I've seen those.
But I assumed he was her live-in boyfriend, not a legit husband.
Nothing wrong with a man liking a woman--of course not--but I find something, uh, sort of really disgusting in a man liking in the carnal sense a woman who was once a man.
Ew. Blllllft.

just because she/he/it said husband, there is no reason to belive that this is one...legally or reality...

Frank,Has she ever said that she had the operation? I ask because I believe I was scolded before for implying she was once a man! :-)

I dunno about your first comment.
As for your second comment, if I was one of those who scolded you, I humbly beg your forgiveness, because you were right, absolutely right.
Bondai convinced me.

There is no Federal Inheritance tax. Most states have repealed or phased out an inheritance tax. Even amongst states with an Inheritance tax insurance proceeds are tax exempt.

True, except the part about insurance proceeds; they can actually be a part of the taxable pot under many state inheritance tax schemes, but even in those States it will usually depend on the degree of relationship between the deceased and the beneficiary, so that transfers to immediate family may be completely or partially exempt even if otherwise covered.
There is of course Federal estate tax, to which one of them refers, but the $1,000,000 amount involved would fall squarely within the recipient's lifetime credit amount if he or she had received no other gifts or inheritances that used up any of it to that point in life. Neither life insurance proceeds nor inheritances are part of gross income for income tax purposes.
Bottom line, whether it was a probate distribution or insurance proceeds, most people would not be paying a dime of tax on it at all, except State inheritance taxes, if any applied.

What are the odds that any of the DUmmies ever considered a 10% tithe? :whatever:

Do we have actual confirmation of CP being a previous man?

One would have to assume he had any to start with. :uhsure:
-
What are the odds that any of the DUmmies ever considered a 10% tithe? :whatever:
About the same as the odds that Nebraska will get above 0 degrees the next few days.
Hardly anything.
-
What are the odds that any of the DUmmies ever considered a 10% tithe? :whatever:
None. DUmmies do not put money into the hands of Fundies. They're afraid that it might be used for some good. They'd prefer to throw it down the bottomless pit known as government so that it can be properly wasted.

"My Dear Crockspot" One only has to view any picture she has posted to tell that she once had one swinging :-)

0%
Unless it was to the Temple of Teh Big Zero hisself.

Based upon my past first-hand acquaintances with members of both sexes who have crossed to the other side, and having viewed more pictures of CP than I would have cared to, I can't quite make that assumption.
Unattractive? Sure. A shemale? The jury is still out.
