I'm glad that the winter has missed us so far. These were back from the December 2006 storm that hit central Illinois.

This is a city street.

Our car came through without a scratch or even a dent, but only because of the 2 inches of ice that protected it from the tree limb.

If only Steve and Edie would ride across in a sleigh waving and singing "Happy Holidays"....

I forget the year, it was 1980-something, when the headline of every major newspaper was accompanied by a photo of some beach babe in a parka in the snow holding up the Miami Hearald with its headline "Snow In Miami!".
I got a couple of calls from some of my oddballs in Houston the other night. They saw snow! Their windshields were frosted.
It's funny, really. My son, who moved to Norman/OK City a couple of years ago, calls me with his weather reports. "Dad, it's snowing"..."Son, it's 76 degrees here"..."Dad, HOW?"
What a difference a small geographical tilt to the south makes. That is why it can be snowing in Dallas and sunbathing in Houston/Galveston. Or 76 in Dallas and 26 in Norman.

We had snow earlier this week and now it is war. That's Texas for ya! :lmao:

That one looks like my street last Friday morning. Problem is, there's supposed to be a two-lane road underneath it. Birches are pretty, but damned if they don't find a way to get in the way every time.

Here are some I took this week after the storm.
