Title: Rendell hits Obama on Blago story
Post by: bijou on December 12, 2008, 01:41:48 PM

Quote
by Frank James

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, appearing on MSNBC's Morning Joe said President-elect Barack Obama erred by not putting out the key points on his campaign's dealings with Gov. Rod Blagojevich immediately, and making the story last distract his transition longer than it would have otherwise.

Politico.com captures the main thrust of Rendell's comments:

Now, he said, the story will continue to dominate the media's attention.

"They have never been in an executive position before," Rendell said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "The rule of thumb is whatever you did, say it and get it over with and make it a one-day story as opposed to a three-day story. Politicians are always misjudging the intelligence of the American people."

What? He ran his own campaign, that's surely enough executive experience for the role of President.

It looks like we've got four years of screw ups to look forward to. Obamas only chance at having a decent legacy is if Congress is taken over by responsible adults, Conservatives, and the economic ship is righted with him at the helm.

I have the feeling that they are going to slip a bunch of stuff under the radar here.  A lot of the Obama show works like Penn and Teller.  One guy talks up a storm while the other guy does the slight of hand.    The Blago case will make a lot of noise that they can use as cover for the other things they are doing.   Like the Clinton thing.

Yeah... he got about as much executive experience out of that as playing a game of 'Risk'.  :-)
