Title: IL Attorney General to IL Supreme Court: Declare Blagojevich unfit
Post by: Ralph Wiggum on December 12, 2008, 12:00:35 PM
Atty. General Lisa Madigan called on the Illinois Supreme Court today to temporarily remove Gov. Rod Blagojevich from office and appoint Lt. Gov. Patrick Qiunn as acting governor.

One of her goals is to prevent Blagojevich from using his power to appoint a U.S. senator to replace President-elect Barack Obama, who abandoned the seat as he prepares to enter the White House.

Blagojevich has been charged in federal court with trying to sell the seat to the bidder that would help him out politically and financially.

A spokesman for the state Supreme Court confirmed Madigan filed the motion this morning.

In the motion, Madigan argues that, given the nature and severity of the federal corruption allegations against Blagojevich, the Supreme Court should stop the governor from performing his duties. She asks the court to allow Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn to temporarily assume those duties under the Governor Succession Act in state law.

Not to mention Blagobama's an American citizen, no less.

Since when do American citizens have fewer rights under American laws, than non-American citizens?

This indeed is confusing.

Interesting that it does not even mention in the story that all the parties in question are in fact Democrats.

Senate Candidate 2 appears to be Madigan
Another clue from the complaint: "Senate Candidate 2" appears to be Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. That candidate isn't implicated in any wrongdoing. I think I heard this somewhere last night that Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn  hasn't even spoken to Blagojevich in over 1 yr. That seems really odd to me that the LT Gov doesn't even communicate with the Gov.

I wonder how the FBI managed to fill all those tapes, it appears no one has spoken to Blagojevich recently.  :whatever: :-)

You know, I looked up Blagobama in wikipedia yesterday, just for casual information.

That Blagobama and Quinn don't get along, have never gotten along, took a large chunk of the wikipedia article.

And so that they haven't spoken with each other for a long time, doesn't surprise me.

If you represent a threat to those who hate America, you must have your rights curtailed.  "Rights" are to be cherry-picked to protect those who hate the USA.

Blagojevich is the elected Governor of Illinois.  These terrified liberals are attempting to overturn the will of the people.

Blagojevich isn't crazy.  He is a criminal - just like William Jefferson Clinton (who, by the way, remained in office because NO ONE (liberal) wanted to "overturn" the election/will of the people.)

Obama the Big Zero is going DOWN.....to be the weakest "president" in the history of the world.

Well, he was obviously unfit to hold the job before he even ran for it.   So his unfitness has not changed a bit.

there is also that little innocent until proven guilty thing. :thatsright:

So there has been no change in his fitness for the office, so there is no legal basis for this. :banghead:   Of course, reality has never been an impediment to a judge on jihad, so they might do the right thing for the wrong reason, but I think I would be happier if they did the wrong thing for the right reason.

Blagojevich is going to have an impact on Obama for sure. Kinda weird that Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn rarely had contact with him. Doesn't sound right.

Much as I would like you to be right, I doubt it.   Obama is beyond teflon.

The thing is, people voted for him knowing him to be dirty.   This election year was pretty bad, people just decided that freedom and democracy were so 18th century, and now we are in the 21st century we need to go back to the good old days of the dark ages.  Or something.  I couldn't quite follow the logic of this election.  But they did vote for Obama with their eyes open.

A sense of entitlement mentality.
