Title: Thursday Evening, almost Friday
Post by: Miss Mia on December 11, 2008, 06:44:32 PM
I'm still at work.  I didn't get here until 11ish (since I have class in the morning).

I'm actually all caught up on work and am looking over some accounting stuff from class.  blah.

Oh, and the company I work for announced today that they're cutting starting Jan. 2 401k matching.  I didn't realize that many people participated in the 401k in the first place, and the company only matches up to $500 anyways.

Last night for dinner I had hot chocolate and toast.  It made me happy, I may do it again tonight.  OR I did buy some crawfish meat and I may make a crawfish etouffee for dinner, I haven't decided.  :)

Anyone doing anything exciting?

We have Christmas slush.  It looks like snow.  Sort of.

Once that shit freezes, things are going to get ugly.

It snowed like 4 inches in Beaumont, Texas last night!  My cousin emailed me pics this morning.  There was some snow/sleet on a few vehicles at school yesterday morning.

I'm enjoying the first evening HOME in a long time!  Two school performances today, so the dancers have the evening off.  I'm enjoying it!  Two more school performances tomorrow, if school isn't cancelled.

Had nachos for dinner, and then the girl child and I played Mario Kart for a while.   Her "not my boyfriend" is coming over on Sunday, and she has challenged him to a race, so she's brushing up on her skills. :innocent:

I maybe getting Mario Kart this weekend.  If not, in two weeks for sure.   :hyper: :-)

I had a Snickers bar the other day.  I cannot remember how long it's been since I last had one.  It was like heaven in my mouth...though marble cake with buttercream icing sounds good too.

I need an idea for a gag gift for tomorrow...something cheap...something I can get at Target.  Last year we threw in a box of Tampax and luckily, a guy picked it right up... :-) (Of course he's allowed to choose another gift)
This year, I'm thinking a Summer's Eve douche...again hoping a guy picks it up... :evillaugh:

I just spent 3 hours shoveling that white sh*t off my driveway.  I am gonna be sooo sore tomorrow too.  Got about 2 inches of the white sh*t.

I just may call in tomorrow with a severe case of anal glaucoma (can't see my a$$ going to work).   :-)

Looks like it all went east of here.  I haven't been outside for a couple hours, so I'm not sure what it loks like now.

I'm south of Nashlanta.  Looks like the temp is dropping now.  This white sh*t is gonna re-freeze overnight.  All the trees are coated in a thick white layer...already heard one tree fall while I was out earlier.  Fortunately it was nowhere near the driveway.

I'm too old fer this.

We got up this morning and drove to the Big City for my dentist appointment.  Then we had an early lunch at El Fenix (Since 1918).  We did some Christmas shopping afterwards.  Then we drove to Choctaw Casino & Resort near Durant, OK.  Then we drove back.  On the way back, we picked up our youngest (almost 4!) granddaughter.  She's going to stay with us tonight and tomorrow.

The weather was cool and beautiful.  Not a cloud in the Texas or Oklahoma skies.

As I look back over the day, lunch was my favorite part.

I love El Fenix.  :)

Their hot sauce and chips are the best I've ever had.  Their food comes closer to the old Tupinamba's (1950's-60's) on Ft. Worth Ave. than any place before or since.  Being a chain has not caused their quality to suffer.

It's a bit pricey, but worth it.  Extraordinary Mexican food.

(If you ever get a wild hair and want to travel, head to a place called Tachito's in Oak Cliff.  They are at Illinois Ave. at (just east of) Westmoreland.   They have been in business for almost thirty years.  Wonderful.  Wonderful.  Wonderful.  I don't mind traveling to enjoy the delight of their puff tacos  :o  )

I just talk to my wife.  We are going to Laurel Land tomorrow to visit our mothers.  We are going to lunch at Tachito's.   :innocent:

There's a few hole in the wall Mexican places near where I live.  I'm tempted to try them, but I'm worried everything's written in Spanish.  LOL

We were one of Tachito's charter customer when they started out in a small ten table spot in a strip center on the opposite side of Illinois Ave and west of Westmoreland from the large building they now occupy.  It was love at first bite.  We lived on the Duncanville/Dallas border at the time, so it was a weekly thing.

The owner drove a ratty Pinto and his wife carried a baby as she took orders.  Today, the Mercedes is parked in the rear lot and the wife is the kindly grandmother at the register - in her designer outfits.

The American dream.

Today it was in the mid 60's and it's still 54 outside.

Next week, the highs are only going to be in the 40's and Las Vegas is getting ready for snow!

I am doing laundry. Exciting night.

I'm home from work... I'm going to eat a quick meal, then go to bed.  Doctor's appointment in the morning, then go to work for a few hours (switched shifts with co-worker so I won't have to close).    At least tomorrow's pay day.  :cheersmate:

I'm having chicken noodle soup for dinner.  I put in extra chicken... you can't exactly call that stuff Campbell's puts in their soup "chicken".

Hope your doctor appointment goes okay.

I hope so too.  I'm worried that "MC" will be brought up when talking with the doctor. :(
