Have you seen Paranormal on A&E yet?  Similar to Ghost Hunters.  The first time I watch it, it was like 2am and completely dark in my whole house.  I was freaked.

I avoid that stuff before bedtime.  not because I am it keeps me from sleeping, but because it will crawl inside my head and mess with my dreams.  I also can't leave the TV on while I am sleeping, or whatever is on will become incorporated into a dream, which is kind of a mess when the science channel goes on one of it's UFO kicks. :-)

my subconscious gets a real kick out of forking with my conscious.  it always has.

Oh, I love watching that show in the dark.   LOL

How do you do it?  :o

This time they are in some old pub and their meters are going off and they record a voice. Frick...it's creepy with the lights off because they have the lights off when they are recording that crap. Damn. And the commercials in between for the scary movies.

No, the commercials were freaky, but I want to catch it. Definitely not at night though. So it's good huh?

Watch something goofy to calm you down. That is what I do when I am scared after watching something like "Ghosthunters". I recommend "Mean Girls" :-)

Oh, me too, WE. I'll be waking up with shaky freakiness in a few hours no doubt. UGH. I leave the tv on sometimes, but I put the weather channel on before I drift to sleep--figure that can't screw with anything too much.  :lmao:

Well,  it's something that's fascinated me since I was a child.  When I was a Girl Scout, we camped out at  this old camp, with this creepy old building that hadn't been used in at least 30 years.   We were sleeping in tents, but some of us snuck into the building to do some looking around.    If only we'd had some EMF meters.  Would have been interesting to see what kind of readings might have been there (electricity was cut off, also).

God, I loved watching the college students scream like children (especially the guys).   :rotf:

Jty, they actually had some freaky missions to perform, as this show revolved around performing creepy missions for money.  One episode occurred at an abandoned Louisiana plantation, where the people had to bury someone alive (not for long, obviously).

You're watching Ghost Plumbers? Those guys rarely find spooky stuff. They seem to be pretty level headed about the things they do find that are paranormal. The other shows seem a bit more, um. dramatic. I won't watch all of Paranormal State yet. They deal with the bad ju ju stuf.

Oh yeah, in one episode a demon that's been following the main dude around shows up.  Creepy!  And they won't say his name and you can tell people are worried about it.  Freaky!

Well, that's it..you are all officially staying up all night with me :cheersmate: :lmao:

I doubt anyone else remembers this, but several years ago, MTV had it's own Ghost-hunting show called "Fear."  (theme song was Godsmack's "VooDoo"  LOVE that song).

God, I loved watching the college students scream like children (especially the guys).   :rotf:
[/quote

I would have too...I love the scary stuff, but I get freaked out easy...damn they are in the woods now and hear heavy footsteps and laughter...if not for the happy disposition, I'd think they were hunting Rosie O.

Jty, they actually had some freaky missions to perform, as this show revolved around performing creepy missions for money.  One episode occurred at an abandoned Louisiana plantation, where the people had to bury someone alive (not for long, obviously).

The buried alive...horrible...what a horrible way to die I would think. I'd come back too, ready to kick any and all available living ass.

LOL, if you want a creepy book about being buried alive, I recommend the book "Buried Alive" by Jan Bondeson.  It's a book that makes you want to crawl into your bed and stay there.  LOL

*shudder*

My mother said Burnt Offerings was one of the scariest books she's ever read.

LOL!!  here is their conclusion.

Quote
Conclusion: Not Haunted

While during the investigation we did experience a few cold spots and the feeling that there may be something there, nothing conclusive was recorded with any of the pieces of equipment we used. With Virginia being a main location for many battles in the Civil War, I would be more likely to account any hauntings around that bridge to be connected to the Civil War and not any mysterious Bunnyman.

haunted by dead civil war guys, not a ghost wearing a bunny suit.

That's kinda weird...still wonder if it is double exposed..don't know how that happens with old film, but...

You know one of the freakier things I have ever seen was in the ruins of a Scottish castle...It was what looked like the shadow of a man on one of the stone walls. It was as if he had stood there for so long that the sun bleached out the other parts, but it was very dark. My dad took pictures of this, but all those great pics from those times were lost when my parents divorced and then when Andrew came through.

You know...space stuff messes with me a bit too..not UFO's and all that--the real stuff...black holes and all that.

Yeah, the thought that we could be ripped apart at any moment into outer space is kinda unnerving.

I was just sick enough to look up the effect on the body in space as I posted that. So much for the idea of going to sleep.

Actually, I slept ok...and no rabid teddy bear dreams, WE :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :-)

Check this out, it is a local urban legend near where I grew up. People swear the Bunnyman is real, I never been brave enough to go there. http://www.stormpages.com/silentedge/investigations/bunnyman.htm

Bunnyman will be in Hell like all bunnies for their crime in the Great Ptarmigan/Rabbit War.
