I am VERY tired of the MSM giving all the deep-southerners a union-bashing forum

Have you noticed that when it comes to the pro-Detroit position, only the governor of Michigan is ever featured. But it seems like every single ****ing "anti-Detroit" spokesman has come out of the woodwork, and they're ALL from the Southern "right-to-work" states. IOW, NO UNIONS.

I hope it's very clear what is going on here. We're witnessing a concerted effort by the corporate media and Republicans to completely undermine unions. That's all this is. The only people saying Detroit must die have heavy Southern drawls.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

3. Have you heard even one of these throwbacks offer anything to help get us through this meltdown?

All I've heard is "No, we won't do that."

Did I miss hearing them offer any solutions to our financial problems, or are they willing to let the USA go down?

Now, that's funny.

A primitive calling southerners "throwbacks."

I dunno about anybody else, but I think that's funny.

5. They are from states which have auto plants run by companies in direct competition with Big3.

They are trying to protect the interests of their states' citizens.

7. The south has been traditionally anti-union and it has something to do with rw religion. I agree they should not have the whole floor.

Hmmm.  That's a new one; one wonders about this "rw religion" of which the whirling primitive speaks.

8. I am SO with you Atman...

It is relentless. My general reaction has been as if subjected to nails down a blackboard.... They go on un-contradicted by the bobbleheads.. No one mentions the 100% healthcare subsidy that the headquarters of these companies enjoy.. or the swamping of the US market..

That's because, for the most part, the owners of businesses in the South treat their employees with respect, just like they're family.  They don't need unions to acquire for them what they're already receiving from their employers.  Must be that "rw religion" thing.

You know, I've read pretty much the entire Bible more than once and I honestly don't remember God saying anything like "Thou shalt not join a union." I confess that I do tend to gloss over all those rules in Leviticus so it could be in there and I just missed it. I did check the index just to be sure. The only "union" reference I can find is all that "between a man and a woman" stuff.

So where's Vonne giving us the unions are good routine, and we can't do without them cause they look out for America?

If unions are so great, how come the industries they dominate are so f'd up?

Because you have a committee of greedy DUmmies trying to run the place with the attitude that the place ought to be run with the 'sole' point being to take care of them. They take none of financial risks, bring nothing but their labor to the table and want to surrender as little of that as they can get away with but then expect to reap all the profits.

You can't milk the old cow dry. You got to leave some for the calf.

Something like actually getting your pay scale? They always seem to gloss over the "dues".....     due.

Do you guys remember the "Boycott Coors" thingy way back?

This was when Coors beer was tossing the union.

Well, they tossed them.  Jobs at Coors are one of the "dream jobs" in the Denver area.  Good work, good pay, employee health club on site, discounts on the products and every employee has the option to be a "beer taster" for a week or so at their regular salary.

Goodbye union, hello "in demand" jobs.

I was living in Lincoln (Nebraska) during that famous Coors boycott (and so made it a point to always buy Coors); this was about the time "microbreweries," where beer was made in the bar itself, were evolving.

All of the Democrats, liberals, and pre-primitives waxed wroth about the "big corporate" Coors, and thought themselves virtuous by patronizing the "microbreweries."

They missed one important detail however, and all the reminding in the world couldn't penetrate their fossilized brains.

Employees of Coors were making good money, and had good benefits.

Employees of these fashionable trendy hip cool with-it "microbreweries" were mostly part-time, minimum-waged, and no benefits other than tips from customers.

Talk about exploiting labor.

Blue Moon is a Coors product.  That's why I buy it rather than Sam Adams, whose political contributions go about 100% to Dems.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.
