Title: Afternoon conteplations or how to avoid studying for a final
Post by: jtyangel on December 08, 2008, 01:29:09 PM
I realized as I sit here munching on a couple of the cookies I made last night that cookies taste better(to me) the next day as opposed to when I first bake them. I'm not sure of why this anomoly is the way it is. If the heat perhaps strips some of the taste for me or if they maybe 'season' overnight after they have had a chance to sit, but they sure are tasty the next day and I'm going, man, they didn't taste this good when they first came out of the oven.

That is all... :-*

Soup always tastes better to me after a night in the fridge.  Weird.

I'm avoiding house work so I am right there with you.  :cheersmate:

A pot of pinto beans, black-eyed peas or gumbo is always better the next day.

Now, you know the funny thing is that the spicier type stuff or more pungent, I don't care for as much the next day with a few exceptions...actually things that are tomato based I don't care for the next day: chilis, spaghetti sauce, etc. But soup...I have some chicken noodle I made last week in the freezer now...I may have to defrost that at the weekend.  :cheersmate:

As for the other:  :cheersmate:. I don't know what it is that I feel like this..maybe because I'm better after being sick for 2 weeks and finally feel in the Christmas mood and don't want to sit chained to a text. Anyway, word on avoidance.  :cheersmate:

MMMM...Mia...I need to come eat at your house sometime. I love getting a bag of navy or black beans and making them from scratch with whatever will work with them. My homemade black beans tasted like something straight out of little havana...they were excellent and so much better then the canned kind. I usually make those and serve them with cube steak. I love yellow rice too with chicken in it. It's no wonder I will always have a boot-ay with how I eat.  :evillaugh:

Cripes now I'm thinking about what I'm going to cook for dinner tonight.

Whoops.

I am going to a meeting tonight that's a potluck and I forgot to get anything.

Doh.

Grocery run in the offing.

My mom found some recipes that you make in a rice cooker.  One is a black-eyed pea jambalaya.  I can't wait to try that out.   :-)

I've spent my day trying to figure out where the cashiers lost money.   :thatsright:

Now I have a headache.  Tonight there's some exciting accounting and then Excel reading to do.  I think I'll study with a beer tonight.   :cheersmate:

That reminds me of a commercial for scrubs. Someone farts and the male nurse tells the patient, "That's ok. It's perfectly natural." The patient says, "That was you." :-)

I dont' seem to have any time lately to catch the good shows, but that one has always cracked me up from the highlights and previews alone. I sense a DVD marathon for Scrubs in my future..that is if I ever finish the 2nd season of Dexter :censored:
