Minus 4 when I left the house this morning, expected high of 15. And that's F, not C!
-
Brrrrr.
Was colder than all hell yesterday, but not as bad today, and later this week it might be in the 50's!
-
Balmy 4 degrees this morning, wind chill of -20. Expected high of 20 today. Yay.

When I came into work this morning, I took a walk to the Rite-Aid for a couple of things. It was 7F then, with a wind chill of -9F. No biggie. By 10 AM, it had warmed up to 10F, with a wind chill of somewhere near 0F. Again, no biggie.

70 degrees and sunny on Saturday, but then we got some clouds and STORMWATCH!!! started for Los Angeles.
I think there was a sighting of sprinkles in the Valley so the city wnt into emergency lockdown.

You never truly appreciate the asinine nature of "Stormwatch!" with Gordon Tokumatsu, et al, standing outside Moonshadows with a beer just off camera telling us we're all gonna die becaue THREE DROPS hit the windshield on the way up PCH.
This as you gird up to shovel/plow/snowthrow the last 18" of snow from the last storm out of your driveway and off your back porch so the dog doesn't disappear everytime he goes to take a dump.

Ton of snow coming here in the next 24 to 36.
They are closing schools already west of here.
-
A chilly 61 outside, but it's windy.

It's also nice not having to wade through half the population of Mexico to wait 8 hours to get seen at an emergency room.

Sure is nice not worrying about tornadoes, hurricanes, and dust storms.
Oh wait--we DO have to worry about the first two, just not very often.

Try on a wind chill of -114 sometime.
Here is the NWS wind chill chart for those that don't know just how cold it can get sometimes with just wind and temps.

I used to work in a local ice cream plant's ice cream hardening room. It used to average -30F in there. The coldest I ever saw it was -48F. I could take about an hour of that, even fully bundled up, before I had to go thaw out.

It ain't THAT bad here in North Central Texas. WE have to worry more about Okies, than Mexicans.... :o
