Title: Snowy Sunday!
Post by: NHSparky on December 07, 2008, 06:50:33 AM
Snow was late to arrive this morning.  Probably hasn't been coming down for more than a couple of hours here and is still little more than a dusting, but they're still expecting a few inches from this.  It has started to come down heavier in the half hour since the dog woke me up with the simple request of either letting him out or cleaning up his mess from the most inconvenient and publicly viewable piece of carpet in the house.

Christmas parade downtown today, so many of the streets are going to be doubly screwed between that and the snow.  Looks like a good day to hang at home, eat leftover chili, kill a few beers, and watch LOTS of football.

mmmmm snow.

Consider that right now, where I am it's 30 deg C , 83% RH and a "apparent" temperature of 35C. It's also 2345.

Slow getting around. It's cold and clear here.Temperature is about 34F. It's going to be a beautiful day and a little on the cool side. My only day off. We'll probably finish decorating the Christmas tree.Run to town later to get a few things. Hope everyone has a pleasant day. I'd like to see a dusting of snow, just to make it feel like Christmas.

In the 20's here again this morning....supposed to get into the 40's but at least the sun is out! We had snow yesterday but it just looked pretty falling as the ground was still too warm.

Doing house stuff and finishing reports. Think I'll make some sort of "comfort food"...starting with Gorilla Balls ...uh Bread... :-)

We have brick floors and they are heated.....the cats find the warmest spots and don't move from them  :-)

FREEZING cold here today....wind chills on the single digits, 35 mph gusts.   The director of the company did the right thing and pulled the girls out of the parade.  We have Nutcracker coming up next weekend, and would hate for anyone to get hurt or sick.

We still get to do the parade, though, cause my youngest is in it...football team made a float.  At least he can bundle up and be warm, though!

It is colder than hell here. A whopping 3 degrees with the wind chill.

And... Joy of joys...

Quote
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT AS STRENGTHENING LOW PRESSURE PASSES SOUTH OF THE STATE. AREAS NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN AND IN THE FAR SOUTHEAST MAY SEE AMOUNTS LIMITED FOR A TIME MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY NIGHT AS WARMER AIR BRIEFLY WORKS INTO THOSE AREAS.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW... SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL

YAY!

I WANT MY FREAKING GLOBAL WARMING.

Because this sucks and winter is not even here yet.

They told my wife she is flying out to England for 2 days this week which means she misses our family Christmas gathering in Milwaukee on Saturday.  And the week after HER family is having their's in Green Bay and I have to miss that because I am on call through Christmas week.

Fun stuff. :(

Just got back from seeing "Twilight" with some friends.  It's an action/romantic drama flick that's definitely geared more towards us ladies, IMO.

The filming style was a little on the rough side, which can make it hard for some folks to remain focused on the movie.  But overall, it was very enjoyable (and Robert Pattinson...  :naughty:  I love the brooding type, and he does it very well as Edward).

I have to go buy the books now.  :uhsure:

There's nothing more romantic, than a movie about an 87ish year old guy... trying to get into the pants of a 16 year old girl  :mental:

I thought that was that zombie vampire flick?

Yeah, but he's 17 forever.  He doesn't grow old, so your point is moot. :asssmack:

Just because you look the same....

Doesn't mean you don't...

Oh wait, ponders the CC gals for a bit... tis true I guess  :thatsright: There's not a soul among them older than 29, lets head to a club  :uhsure:

May I ask why you are making a big deal out of something that is FICTION. Why not enjoy it instead of nitpicking every little frickin' detail?  I'm guessing you're not the type that reads many fiction novels.  Immortality of this nature is common in many fiction novels, just to let you know.  :uhsure:

PS, heed the title below my avatar.  That is all.

I did play with the Wii for like 2 hours today.  I imported some Miis from other people and now I have one that looks like Darth Vader.   :-)
