And by "fun" I mean "terrifying" and by "recipes" I mean "evidence"...

Had someone served this to me, I'd likely have skewered them with that shashlik, whatever the hell THAT was.

"Caucasian" shastick?

I guess political correctness wasn't big back in the 1970s.

That was just disgusting.  I think if a person just looked at those meals before eating they would lose weight.

I have no idea what "shashlik" is. All I know about this dish is that it's meat. And that the meat's, uh... caucasian.

Fish "tacos" (http://www.candyboots.com/wwcards/fishquotetacos.html)

There's a really off-color joke in there somewhere.  I ain't touching it, though.

"Shashlik" is pretty much skewered and grilled meat, what we would usually call shish-kabob, but Shashlik is what it's called all over Germany and Central Europe these days from what I assume is Turk influence.  It's available at all sorts of food vendor stalls at fairs and markets.  The "Caucasian" part no doubt refers to the Caucasus Mountains, which are on the NE boundary of what is now Turkey, and pretty much the home domain of Turkic peoples.
Tasty stuff!
