Title: primitive wants gov't to tell him what to drive
Post by: USA4ME on December 04, 2008, 08:40:57 PM
Quote from:
Joe Fields

Consumers (as a group) are idiots. They are as bad as children.

If you have a fuel efficient vehicle, then I am not talking about you.

If you have a truck, but need it for work, then I am not talking about you.

If you have a large family, and need an SUV, or a mini van, then you are also excused.

BUT, I just finished listening to an interview of one of the G.M. officials that spoke on Capitol Hill today, and what he said really amazed me. Several months ago, he said, when gas averaged four dollars per gallon, GM couldn't keep fuel efficient cars on car lots. Now that gasoline is around a buck and a half, the fuel efficient cars are sitting, and the sales of trucks and suv's dramatically increased, (relative to the fact that last month's sales were down over 40 percent.)

I thought children's attention spans were short. But come on, people. Will we ever get over the arrogance of being Americans who feel we have the god given rights to be selfish, continue to drive Cadillacs with baby seal skin upholstry, smoke 30 dollar Macanudo's while driving down the highway at 90 miles an hour with the top down, flipping the rest of the world the bird?

This is EXACTLY why I'm completely in favor of the government dictating to Detroit what type of cars they will make. The big three conned America into buying their high priced low mileage vehicles. We can't take the chance on trusting them again to do the right thing. Hell, we can't even trust ourselves to make good choices.

"Hell, we can't even trust ourselves to make good choices."

If the topic is the last election, I would completely agree.

18. Yes, they need discipline. Much happier if they know limits.

19. Yes, much happier!

But when we call them communists, they get all bent out of shape, right?

I'm 46 years old - I don't need a pseudoparent telling me what to do or what to drive.

He doesn't want the government telling him what to drive, he wants the government to tell you what to drive.

Remember, these are the same primitives that don't want the government dictating to them which substances they can put into their own bodies or which appendage they can put into someone else's.

That doesn`t describe all Americans but it sure does describe DUmmies in how they have viewed islamofacisim and our war against it.

Because he's a liberal, EVERYTHING is his business as long as he can convince himself that it's for the "greater good".

I read something maybe two weeks ago to the effect that the Yugo plant is going out of business.

Does that mean that they'll pay you to take one?

Me too! I blew past a POS Prius this morning attempting to "out run" me to keep me from merging. I don't know why, but Prius owners seem to speed and act like assholes.

Sshhh! Don't tell the DUmmies that. They'll be clamoring for the employees to unionize, then for our Congress to bail them out with our tax dollars.

What is it with asshole who drive those things? The other day I had one who would speed up every time I tried to pass...I just kicked it in and the Firebird blew his doors off....
Them are really butt-ugly cars

Meh. My cousin bought one at the height of gas prices. He commutes from The Woodlands to downtown Houston every day. Fortunately, he's not a sanctimonious tree-hugging blowhard. He just likes the gas mileage.

$30 Macanudos?

Where is this idiot buying his cigars?
Probably New York. In their infinite wisdom, the city government has decided that it must protect people from themselves by heavily taxing such vices as alcohol and tobacco. Fortunately, Spitzer, always the elitist, didn't raise taxes on prostitution, so you can still get a whore on the cheap. :-)

Actually, Spitzer went after some prostitution rings--just not the ones he patronized.

And, NYS really can't say how NYC taxes things.

Yup.  I have had to call on the only 100 ponies in my Saturn's 1.8L to outrun several Prius assholes.  ****ing douchebags, all of them.  My parents wanted to get one, and I talked them into a Corolla S.

They didn't even mention the homeowner that does stuff for themselves. After I bought my first home, I realized the necessity of having a pickup truck. Of course, not everybody can afford to buy a couple of vehicles, just to have one sit until it's needed.

Hey dipshit, elected officials aren't our "rulers", ya f'n idiot. Anyone who thinks like this should have their voting rights REVOKED!

Seems I'M more responsible than those idiots anyway. "I'm" not running a deficit. "I'm" not broke. "I'm" not having to borrow from China. It's the GOVERNMENT who needs to be taken to the f'n woodshed, but alas, since you Damn morons vote, that'll never happen.

Leave it to government now to tell the big "3" what kind of cars to build.....and what kind will that be?

The kind people won't buy.

21. I don't have a car
Edited on Thu Dec-04-08 03:15 AM by undergroundpanther
I walk everywhere or take the bus.I live in sprawl land. I can walk for miles.
I can't afford a car,Don't want to maintain a car, feed it gas,and become dependent on a car.I don't want the cost and burden of a car. After witnessing for years how violent cars are,by being outside vehicles and seeing the effects not noticed by drivers ,like all the terrible roadkills, accidents and idiot and downright callous and aggressive behaviors cars helped foster in people.. I don't want to add more to what damage cars do to all the life around me to have a car.I do not like the effects car culture and cars have created, I hate the never ceasing sounds of engines running ,blinding headlights tearing apart the softness of the night and the car exhaust stink..So I will not contribute more to this mess by buying, maintaining, fueling and driving a car myself...

For some reason, Catshit's little screed reminded me of this poem:

I'm a lean dog, a keen dog, a wild dog, and lone;
I'm a rough dog, a tough dog, hunting on my own;
I'm a bad dog, a mad dog, teasing silly sheep;
I love to sit and bay the moon, to keep fat souls from sleep.

I'll never be a lap dog, licking dirty feet,
A sleek dog, a meek dog, cringing for my meat,
Not for me the fireside, the well-filled plate,
But shut door, and sharp stone, and cuff and kick, and hate.

Not for me the other dogs, running by my side,
Some have run a short while, but none of them would bide.
O mine is still the lone trail, the hard trail, the best,
Wide wind, and wild stars, and hunger of the quest!

Irene Rutherford Mcleod   Lone Dog

Just replace the word "dog"with "cat". :-)

What's up with that? I thought Catshit said once a car hit him/her/it and walking was a problem. :clueless:

Isn't it funny how its "disabilities" only come to light when it comes to makin' excuses as to why it's a leech and cannot get or hold a paying job.

Getting over to see their dealer, or pissing time away moaning, no problems, can "walk for miles".
