Cheney, Gonzales Indictments Dropped
Advertisements [?]A judge in Raymondville, Texas has dropped indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Judge Manuel Banales, after surviving a motion to have him removed from the case, threw out eight of the indictments brought by Willacy County District Attorney Juan Guerra, including those against two special prosecutors, two district judges, and a district clerk.
Judge Banales ruled the grand jury returned the indictments against Cheney and Gonzales unlawfully. Banales also tossed an indictment for corruption against State Senator Eddie Lucio Jr., a Democrat.
Charges were brought against Vice President Cheney and former AG Gonzales for blocking the investigation into a prisoner's murder in a private prison in Raymondville.

2. That really pisses me off. These idiots are really going to
get away with it all, aren't they? Everyone wants to "move forward" and forget about the past and just focus on fixing things.
Well, what about the next Bush Administration? Whomever they are. They'll see that no one gets punished for lying to the American people, for starting illegal and immoral wars and for stomping on the Constitution. They'll try to push the envelope further because - as long as you don't get a blow job in the Oval Office, nothing is impeachable anymore.
See that's the thing..................blowjob not the reason, perjury the reason

"Dropped" would actually be less significant, it's not a real legal term in the first place but normally mean the prosecutor had decided not to go on with them but could pick it up again at any time. "Dismissal" is a lot more final, though the real question would be whether the dismissal was with or without prejudice.

Although I really don't like Cheney or Gonzales, the indictment was a farce. It was a pretty clear abuse of the prosecutor's powers.
As there is no political advantage for Obama or the Dems in prosecuting Cheney or Alberto G., I think this nonsense will stop soon. Then again the Dems have been known to shoot themselves in the foot, sort of like that dumbass Plaxico Burress up in NY.

There is no legal concept of "dropped." "Dismissed" means what you posted.
