My daughter was noshing on mashed sweet potatoes tonight and announced that if happiness was a vegetable it would be a yam because they were sunny colored and sweet.
This of course led to discussion on what other emotions would be if they were vegetables and fruit.
I said tomatoes would be love, since they are rich and red and juicy and form the base of so many different good things.
What can you come up with?

Oh I thought you were wondering what the conversations were....................I ate with my Sister and her husband (they still have their Obama stickers on the car) with my folks.
Intresting conversations.
The turkey would be faith....................cause all you do is pray that it will be perfect

Onions would be hate. When I bite into one after telling the waitress no onions I really hate the cook. When I am forced to chop them they make me cry. They smell up my house and my hands, which I hate too.
Apples would be lust. I know there is nothing as satisfying as a juicy crisp apple any time of day. Adding chocolate, carmel, or whip cream is just a bonus to an incredibly delicacy.

Jell-O has to be disgust -- all that wobbling going on. Ditto for canned ham and the gelatin that it's packed in.
Kinda hard to not be jolly with some warm dinner rolls right out of the oven, slathered in butter.

The highlights of today's conversation included my sister-in-law's father telling stories of his time spent in Riker's island as a correction officer...and stories from his side-job working as a floor cleaner in a funeral home....ya know, just light conversation between "pass the turkey, pass the stuffing".... :-)

Be thankful he wasn't talking about changing out his colostomy bag.....

Great minds think alike ... THE LOVE APPLE OR POMME D’AMOUR (TOMATO)
Researchers determined that Aztecs developed the tomato, as we know it. When the first conquistadors arrived in Mexico, the red fruit attracted their attention and intrigued their taste buds. In the 1600’s, they shipped some to Europe, but at first tomato failed to enthuse the palates of Europeans. Then in a genial strike some “marketing guru†decided to label tomato as an aphrodisiac and named it poma amoris, the French in turn called it pomme d’amour. Of course it took off.

I think dessert would be "contentment". People sitting around, full and happy, with just enough room left for a little more sweetness.

Turkey dressing would be me: good hot or cold ;)

Someone brought an extremely scrumptious Italian Creme Cake to our "pot luck" Thanksgiving yesterday.....it would be decadence!

So... What kind of wine were you all drinking along with the meal?
