Title: Some in Danville cry foul over high school basketball cuts

DANVILLE – Some black community members have accused the Danville High School boys basketball head coach of racial profiling for cutting at least eight black players from an all-black team.

Now they're planning to organize a protest in an attempt to get Coach Gary Tidwell, who is white, removed.
"We need to play hard ball to get some answers," said Frank McCullough, pastor of Mount Olive Christian Church.

But school officials insisted there has been no racial discrimination and said they stand by Tidwell.

"The coach chose the student athletes that he thought were the very best players and would help the team be successful this year," Principal Mark Neil said. "That was the basis of the choice.

"I feel for the ones who did not make the team," Neil said. "It's got to be tough on them and tough for their parents. ... But I don't understand the racial (accusations). The entire team is African-American."

Nope, no racism on the part of the blacks here.  :banghead:

Waaaaait a sec.  If the team is all-black, and there's got to be somebody cut, logic would dictate that there's a 100% chance that any player cut is going to be black.   :thatsright:

Just common sense, that's all.  Yet, common sense is the least common thing in the world.

I guess the ones they kept were lighter skinned.

Your racism is outta place ...... but your logic is probably well placed.... :-)

Oh well. I guess we'll know where to find Jesse and Al next week.

:rotf:High school football team here hasn't been worth a dang for many years. Reasons, white coach, politics and race. So they hired a retired black coach. First thing he did was make some rules, pants up, short hair, yes sir/no sir, grades and other behavior rules. Then he cut so-&-so's son, some lazy blacks and added some redneck good old country boys. When the questions came up as to why he cut some older, supposedly more experienced players, he simply said, "Cause they weren't worth a damn." They won over half their games this year, unlike last years perfect season when they lost every game.
