I sprained my ankle 5 days ago.
Did the ice etc. after the Emergency Hospital.
It really hurt the first day but now no pain or swelling.
Have crutches and a brace.
Making an appointment for next week with the Orthopedist.
Went to www.realage.com and started little exercises.
How will I know when I can start walking in the park every day - I miss it.
The usually-empathetic, usually-socially-conscious primitives messed up on this, big time.
No primitive showed up at the bonfire to offer sympathy and advice.
I'm starting to get the impressive the primitives might perhaps be insensitive clods.
Anybody have any advice here?
I've always just iced, no chemicals other than aspirin.
But usually the primitives are seeking pills, especially if they're paid for by the taxpayers.

All I will say is that the primitives seem to be "insensitive clods". ;)

For a sprain, after the initial treatmemt of applying ice to the injury, combine turmeric (from the store ) and a little hot water to make a paste. Apply this mixture to the injured area with gauze dressing. This treatment helps reduce swelling. It's also good for brusing.
Another helper for healing is a Mustard poultice are good for swelling and can relax tense muscles. Raise about the heart if possible.
Drink pineapple( bromelain) juice on an empty stomach, reduces inflamation. Also avaliable in pill form. Drink extra water for healing.
Arnica montana is a homeopathic remedy for swelling and pain.

Who goes to an Orthopedist for a sprain?

Just make sure it's not broken. There's also a product call Myotone,I think you can get it at CVS by enzymatic Therapy.
It's been successful for torn tendons, ligaments, and muscle.I've seen people that have been in bad car wrecks and broke a foot many times, with pulled tendons and ligaments heal faster.
