Something(s) are in my home that only the cats can see or sense.......
Every few days for a few weeks now I catch my cats watching something floating near the ceiling. Occasionally it will come down to about waist height and then go back up to apparently skimming the ceiling. I can't see it nor can my Mother. Sometimes one or two cats will watch one thing while another or two watch another thing in different areas but only in the living room. I can't be mice in the walls and ceiling because they watch it come down and float across the room before going up high again.
These things keep tempting the kitties up onto furnature (like my Grandmother's piano) they know they aren't supposed to be on because of photographs and knick-nacks. I have tried asking whatever it is to please not tempt the kitties up there to no effect. A short time later I will find 3 cats up on the mantle piece so I have had to take everything down and keep squirt bottles loaded, not that a squirt deters them for long.
I am not picking up any bad vibes and none of the cats act scared or worked up like when they bird watch with teeth chattering like telegraphs. They are just wide eyed and utterly fascinated like little kids watching fireflies. They never have made a leap or a grab for the thing(s) they are watching just follow and watch enthralled by the sight.
Anyone wish to take a guess as to what is going on or try to intuit what is going on? So far no harm done to cats nor woodwork and I hope it stays that way.

It's cobwebs ya dirty filthy moonbat!
Get out the damn broom!

I dunno.
Abbie, Snow, Junior, Apricot, Floyd, Gordon, Harold, George, Ellie, and Leo are always looking at things I don't see.
Then they get bored, yawn, and walk away.

I think we need our resident spirit guide to decipher this mystery for us. :tinfoil2:

Okay, we need to be careful so that Operation Train Pets to Freak out Their Moonbat Owners remains secure and covert.

Ghostly cabbages

I fear this is an another example of the dangers of "passive smoking".
I could be wrong, perhaps she keeps getting the kitty food and the acid confused.
-
My first guess is cobwebs or dust stirred into action by heat, air movement, or sunlight., But what do I know, I'm just a stupid knuckledraggin' neocon.

Greeblings and kazoons.

I use that quote "I seen shit so scary it'll turn you white!"

I'm thinking the cats are just being cats, and the DUmmies are being DUmmies, as usual, reading psychic messages into normal every day occurances. :mental:

Mine too, well...MOST of them give Einstein, Scuttles, Samurai, Indiana, and Wicket catnip and they'll bat at thin air. Ramos, Misfit, and EmCee insist on live prey or the occasional cat toy, though and don't really like catnip at all. Put a little cat ball (one of the ones with the little bell inside) in the bathtub and they all go nuts.

How the hell do you know that? Did the cats tell you? How do you know they're looking at something in the room rather than looking across the room at the wall, ceiling or floor? :huh?:

Knock the cob webs down.
thats what i was thinking.. some small, thin wispy strand that is being blown up and down as the heat kicks on and off..

It's obviously Ghost Chickens trying to learn how to fly.

You don't have cats, do you? If you do, do you pay attention? Thems is as psychic as any being on the planet.

Yes, I have cats...have lived with a cat every day of my life, in fact. And right now we have five. An ys, I pay attention, which is why I wrote what I did. The cats are just being cats. It's what they do.

They are psychic -- they are reading your mind RIGHT NOW!

My dog was licking her butt the other day. I didn't see anything on her butt that appeared to be inciting the licking instinct. Could it she be licking ghosts?

My dog was doing that, too!
I'm pretty sure he was licking his "ghost testicles", though.
