I am sick and have been since yesterday...of course, I do all the cooking and cleaning and a holiday is coming and I'm feeling like doo doo....it's also raining and nasty out! argh!!!!
That is all and no this is not a whiny zone thread, just a typical monday friggin morning thread! hmmf!

This is actually one of my busiest weeks! I work on Thanksgiving Day at the Cowboys game and what not. I'm just whining because I found out some pretty crappy family news this morning! Not a fab way to start the week ya know? :( But, I'll try to perk it up!! lol :)

Trying to get this week off from work was hell, given my obnoxious co-workers trying to do the same. I'll be flying out of Atlanta tomorrow. Since I'm on AA, I'll be stuck in Dallas/Ft. Worth for an hour or so. Wish I had more time there. :p Then on to Shreveport. It's a wacky flight itinerary, but we can all thank Delta for that (they dominate Shreveport airport, so no direct flights for AA). :hammer:

The hot then cold then hot again weather we've been having tagged my wife with a head cold yesterday morning. No voice, feels like shit, you know the drill. She took 4 Nyquil liqui-caps to get to sleep last night, when 1 will normally knock her out for 12 hours.
On a better note, my son couldn't be prouder of himself after this weekend. Saturday we (all three of us) made a trip down to the Gun Club in Loveland. I finally got to try out the new XD I bought the weekend before (shoots just about like the other XD I own, except I think the 5" absorbs recoil even better than the 4" does), and because he's been more openly curious about my new pistol than he has been about any of my others, I stood him up on a chair on the firing line, helped him get his hands settled on the grip just right (and wrapped my big ol' ham hocks around those tiny mitts of his to help him control the pistol), and then let him fire off rounds at the ICE "bad guy" target down range. He was so excited, he had me call the target in after each round he touched off, so he could see where he had "shot the bad guy". He put about 7 rounds downrange before he was satisfied (and he ran out of attention span). That target he perforated is now hanging on the back of his bedroom door, and all he could talk about at church yesterday was how he "shot the bad guy". Enough to melt an old bastard's heart. (That's my boy!)

Spent the early part of my morning observing a 7th grade science class, yippee. Then I went to the Verizon store, where I procedded to get my daughte'rs phone exchanged for a new one, since the old one kept shutting off at random times.
Now I'm resisting the urge to take a nap, and tonight is Nutcracker tickets sales again.
Oh, I met my daughter's new "man" this weekend. He took her to a movie (his parents were there, too), and I took the boys to see antoehr movie while we waited. Then we ran into him and his parents at Walmart on Sunday, and spent probably 30 minutes chatting with them (the kids wandered off to look at their own stuff). Nice enough folks. And he goes to a different High School than my daughter, so contact is limited to when we aprrove it.

-Wife works today - off rest of week
-Grocery shop tomorrow morning. Big turkey, etc. (with wife)
-Pick up Little Angel from school at 1:15 tomorrow
-Little Angel's dad and SO arrive tomorrow night
-Nothing special on Wednesday
-Thursday - get up early and go to daughter's house in Kaufman County. Wife, etc. will cook feast
-Little Angel's dad and SO leave after dinner - back to OK.
-Friday - Wife, Little Angel and I drive to Norman. Little Angel stays with her dad. We stay in hotel; visit casino
-Saturday - drive home with Little Angel in tow
-Sunday - wife leaves for Houston. I take Little Angel back to her mother

I think that's the plan.
They are not big on payouts. They are more of an "entertainment"-type establishment that rakes in your money. Newcastle Casino is up Highway 9 about 7 or 8 miles and they payout more frequently.

My wife's car is DOA in the garage. I just pushed it out onto the driveway and called the tow service to take it into the dealership. Sumthin in the engine. Battery is almost brand new. It cranks over hard, catches once or twice and then poofs out.
Such is life.
Usually we have a car go crappola on us a couple weeks before Christmas. It was right considerate that it happened a little farther out. Probably gonna run 5 or 6 hundred bucks whatever it is. Maybe we lucked out and it's just a sensor or module.

A timing belt is a simple fix (having done it a few times on a couple different vehicles). It is still expensive.

I had a bad crank sensor on a Buick I owned. Damn thing would start up fine in the morning, but would crap out at random times. Happened during driving quite a bit -- I would have to shift the car into neutral and restart it while coasting down the road. What made it worse was the key had broken off into the ignition switch and you could start it with a screwdriver.
I'm glad I finally got rid of that POS.

Thanksgiving party at work. If I cook, it's something hot but chili and jambalaya don't really fit in. This is about the only cold dish I do well, so I volunteered to bring it.

I thought I wouldn't make it. Right after I got through Macon, it started raining, and it was DARK! I hate driving in such weather, and I hate daylight savings time. :bawl:
And the house looks horrible, at least on the inside... padding beneath the carpet in the affected areas (half of house was flooded) has been removed, so its a little awkward to walk over a hard surface where it should be cushy. :( Holes have been carved in the walls and ceiling (living room) and all the furniture in the living room moved WAY closer to the tv (unaffected area). The linen closet (upstairs) doors were removed and put in my room... I just tripped over the damn things when going to turn on the light. :censored:
Give me my JoJos (peppermint Oreos from Trader Joes) and a glass of milk, and I'll be fine. :p

They actually aren't going to replace the carpet, at least in the living room. Once they finish all the sanding/grinding/whatever it is they're going to do to the floor beneath the carpet, they're going to clean the carpet and put it back. Upstairs carpet will likely need to be replaced (master bedroom).

UGH! I should have rephrased that to "the END of daylight savings time". :thatsright: I was on the road and in Atlanta traffic for over 5 hours. My brain is dead. It's that darn I-16, though, that will wear you out quickly (well, it wears me out, anyway)... 157 miles of NOTHING between Savannah and Macon. :yawn:
