Folks, all who know Obama say one thing about how he will govern:
He is a ruthless pragmatist. He is not an ideologue. He appreciates intelligence and excellence, and expects it from those he surrounds himself with.
With his cabinet, he will be deliberate and place the person he thinks most capable in each position. Yes, this just might mean a person like blahblahblah.....
There's a lot of Primitives of Prominence at this bonfire.

5. Absolutely agree.
I turned the Rahm Emanuel pick over and over and wound up at that same conclusion.
He wanted a 'get it done' guy in the position, so he put one there.

28. I believe Omaba is the person needed at this time - I can not imagine the country in its present state with someone else as President Elect.
He will do what must be done, despite all of our "constructive" criticism.

38. Excellent post. "Yes, we can," though we may not be able to so so immediataley [sic].
The bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive is the end of the Primitives of Prominence, but this unterprimitiven bears watching, if for no reason other than his perspicacity:

70. Within a year, half this board will detest him....He's far too moderate in personality to ever satisfy our party's base. Its one of his strongest points. But he won't be really popular here when he tries to reach out.
Hell Joe Lieberman will probably get to keep his chairmanship just because Obama wants to lessen partisan fighting. That sickens me but its his choice. I understand his reasoning I just hate the outcome.

If "Ruthless pragmatist" means making so many impossible and mutually-conflicting promises to so many people that even Obama can't keep track of them himself, I'd have to agree.

I keep seeing this "I'm glad he's really intelligent" crap at the DUmp. I don't want a prez that's some type of super-intellect. I've worked with people who would be considered the "intelligentsia" and they could never get anything done. In fact, they're downright quirky and weird. I've never seen anyone who was considered super intelligent who could run a company, or an office for that matter. They're just a big stack of information with no personality and no idea how to direct their intelligence towards anything productive.
I'd rather have someone who's slightly above average in intelligence, who knows how to deligate, and who surrounds himself with people who are slightly to highly intelligent. I don't see Il Duce being able to do that.

I kind of agree, but I'd say I've known some super-intelligent people who could really get stuff done...but they were just guys FIRST, to whom their intelligence was just an additional advantage, and they did not relate to people from a position of self-assumed intellectual superiority. For people who primarily cast themselves as intellectuals first, though, you are 100% correct.

ObamaWannaBeThePres is neither intelligent or intellectual! The guy's strictly an empty suit who showed up at the right time in the right place.
He's not going to do anything more than screw the hell out of the American economy and us! Not necessarily in that order!

Hero worship from a bunch of infantile and insecure minds.
The same reason the left also admires the Hollywood airheads.

True, but the most delicious thing about that is, they won't be able to SAY so without being called 'Racist' by the rest of the moonbats who are still drinking the Obam-aid.
