I just got up.
I got called out on a fire last night (This morning) and didn't get home till 5am and my wife, this glorious angel whom I clearly do not deserve let me sleep in till now.
I have to run her to the airport here in about half an hour and we are losing her for another week to business travel. Just me and the Mancub till Sunday when I drive north and pick up my eldest from her leadership seminar thingy.
Tonight the menfolk eat fried chicken in their undies while watching TV!! :-)
-
I didn't know fried chickens had undies. :lmao:
-
I'm having a pretty good day so far. Been a little busy at work, but not too bad.
I'm going out for dinner and drinks with a girlfriend of mine after work tonight. :-)

I'm eating leftover chicken and noodles from last night. It is better today than it was yesterday. Listening to Dennis Prager's Happiness Hour right now. I really respect him. Schade called me this morning, we had a nice chat.
Tonight I'm making beef and cabbage soup, one of my husband's favorites. I invited my parents over to eat. They just got back from visiting my brother's widow to go through my brothers things.
Ever know someone who you can sit there and ask them question after question but when you walk away you still can't figure out what they do for a living or anything about them. That is my brothers widow. She talks in circles. When my brother died she said her ex-boyfriend stole money right out of their account and that she didn't have a dime and my brother didn't have any life insurance (according to her). My parents paid for two funerals (because she wanted one where they lived and then we brought my brother back to Iowa to be buried), paid for his casket and headstone...everything. My Mom asked her about the house and she claims it went into forclosure but that someone bought it illegally but she doesn't have to move out until march or may or sometihng like that. Then the next day she said she was putting the house up for sale in the spring. She doesn't work, her parents and brother have no money....how is she living? I know for a fact that my brother didn't have anything in savings when he died because he hadn't been working regularly in a long time and they were behind on their house payment when he died. He had no 401K left over because he took out all his money over the past few years because he couldn't keep a steady job.
How is she living?!?
OOps I got carried away with this post but I'm going to post it anyway. :p

You sure drink alot..... :p

So far, today's been average.
Went shopping, had to pay out the ass for a new printer USB cable. :bawl: After that, I ran to get my paycheck, dropped THAT off at the bank, and went to WalGreen's to drop off a pair of prescriptions (will end up costing me $100+ :whatever: ). For lunch (and the rest of the weekend), I'll be having Little Caesar's pizza. :cheersmate:
I get today and tomorrow off from work (first time in a LONG time) so I'll be getting some beer to enjoy myself. I'll just have to be as covert as possible with it, so my room-mate doesn't blab to her mother that I drink (her mother is an overbearing b****).

Getting by here. The work environment is toxic with all of the layoff rumors. I'm trying to just stay focused and keep my head down.
I should have my resume polished up by this weekend. Then I'm going to start floating it around and see what kind of bites I get. I've also got a game plan ready should I get the dreaded pink slip.
It's been a mentally, emotionally, and physically stressful week.
But for lunch I went to Jamba Juice. I'm sucking down an Original Razmattaz with an energy boost. That's perking me up. :-)

Sorry you have to go through this Jen. You must be exhausted from all the worry.

Very much so. My body is definitely feeling the stress. I cancelled my Sunday activities just to I can have a day to rest and relax. I'm going to try and not think about anything job-related on Sunday. Just watch football, some Netflix movies, take a bubble bath, and have some me time.
Thanks, BEG. :)

At some point I need to get ready for work. Don't have anything else to do, might order a pizza for lunch.
Life is really good.

I think that's something ALL of us need to do. I know I do.
Letting all that stress build up inside is NOT a good thing. I've let it happen one too many times, and because of that, I can turn into an emotional mess because of something minor.
Just wish I could find a decent hypoallergenic bubble bath. I can't use the regular kind because it makes me itch. :(

I've done the same thing before. I can definitely sympathize. :)
Another thing I did this week was see a counselor (it's free through my employer). That was helpful too. Venting to a total stranger who is paid to listen to you is very therapeutic!

I did the same. My student fees paid for me to see a psychiatrist (he has a private practice, but comes to the campus every Wednesday to talk to students). Saves a LOT of money, at least if you compare it to seeing the doctor off-campus.

My dad started going to therapy once every couple of weeks about 2 months ago and it's really helped him out. I strongly encourage him to keep going to her. :)

I really like Dennis Prager's Happiness Hour. I also like the Male/Female Hour on Wednesdays.
I like Michel Medved's Conspiracy Days. LOL!

Drop part of my paycheck at the bank. drove around to pay a bill or two and don't work till later on today
-
WOOT! Just picked up my prescriptions. Something in my insurance changed, it seems. When I started on a particular medication last month, I had to pay about $100 for a 60 day supply. This month, it's dropped to $25. And it's not the generic version, either. :cheersmate:

Watched the new Clone Wars DVD with the Mancub I did.
Not entirely did it suck.

Still on swings. Last day, last time this year. Wo0t! The guy who has the pager this weekend (was also supposed to be on swings but project kept him doing 7-12's) asked me if I wanted the pager.
After I stopped laughing (I've had it twice in two months--most people don't get it twice a year), I told him no.
I'm thinking about going to Conway tomorrow since I'm not going to get much done in the way of yard work--too much rain, and snow coming in early next week.
