Agenda disappears from Obama Web site
Over the weekend President-elect Barack Obama scrubbed Change.gov, his transition Web site, deleting most of what had been a massive agenda copied directly from his campaign Web site.
Gone are the promises on how an Obama administration would handle 25 different agenda items - everything from Iraq and immigration to taxes and urban policy - all items laid out on his campaign Web site, www.BarackObama.com.
Instead, the official agenda on Change.gov has been boiled down to one vague paragraph proclaiming a plan “to revive the economy, to fix our health care, education, and social security systems, to define a clear path to energy independence, to end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan, and to work with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, among many other domestic and foreign policy objectives.â€
“We are currently retooling the Web site,†said Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro.
Uh yeah. Too many of those "tools" got thrown under the ooooobama-bus. :whatever: Time to break out a new set.

he should replace it with "will do whatever happens to strike my fancy at any given moment." and "Yes, We Can" has been replaced by, "Yes, I did you". :whatever:

This looks like a pretty big "Oooops!" to me.
I guess he's starting to get a clue that promising everything to everybody won't work once you ascend the throne and gaze upon your loyal subjects.
You might actually be called to task on that collection of drivel!

His staff have been busy "lowering expectations" since 11/5. I'm not sure my expectations could get any lower.

The Ministry of Troof strikes again. Big Brotha cannot possibly be allowed to be painted in such a 'inflexible' light by the innerwebs.

I think it's remarkable that he's espousing working for a living. Wealth redistribution requires only the wealthy and the middle class to work, since they're the ones paying the taxes.
But I guess exceptions can always be made.
Oh, gimme a band-aid for the gash you put in my head. I think I'm gonna call OSHA on your ass.

I think our candidates should have to provide 2 lists of 'promises' they are going to run on.
1st list should be promises they are going to keep (and they must be ABLE to keep them)
2nd list should be promises they will try to acheive.
If they don't live up to a single promise, ya throw the bum out!

Il Duce is a typical politician, this is, his only conviction is that he has no convictions.

I wonder what the chances are of fixing that on his record?

It's a long LONG way from campaign promises to the Oval Office.
And the road there (like hell) is paved with good "intentions"

Good thing the media is holding his feet to the fire. :whatever:

That's not the portion of his anatomy that should be held to the fire, but I think he's safe from any risk of injury. :-)

"A statist might ride to power by dispensing promises, threats and handouts to the seekers of the unearned—but he finds himself impotent in a national emergency, because the language, methods and policies which were successful with parasites, do not work when the country needs producers." -Ayn Rand

Ayn Rand was a legend in her own mind, but that's some accurate stuff there, Sparky.
