first of all, wasn't it hillary that "channeled" eleanor roosevelt? but what bothered me the most about that crack was the fact that the press corps laughed.
Obama apologizes to Nancy Reagan for 'seance' crack
Barack Obama's first press conference as US president-elect came with an apology attached Friday, as he phoned former first lady Nancy Reagan seeking forgiveness over a "careless" crack about her conducting seances.
"President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off-handed remark he made during today's press conference," Obama transition team spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said in a statement a few hours after the briefing.
"The president-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share, and they had a warm conversation," she said.
Obama, known for his gift of oratory on the campaign trail, seemed out of character when he made the gaffe at his first press conference since winning the presidency, after he was asked if he had spoken with any former living presidents to prepare for the job.
"In terms of speaking to former presidents, I've spoken to all of them that are living," said Obama.

"Obviously, president Clinton -- I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances. I have re-read some of Lincoln's writings, who's always an extraordinary inspiration."

Obama seems like a very mean man. He tries to keep his cool all the time, but there seems to be a basic snarky meanness about the man. There was no reason to make that crack about Nancy Reagan. And he certainly should have had his facts straight. This is going to be a long 4 years (hopefully only 4).

he strikes me as possibly a misogynist. the dismissive "sweetie" comments, his mention of hllary's PMS . . . the fact that his wife could probably kick his ass. :-) The MichelleStar! looked pretty intimidating in that black widow dress tuesday night.

He does seem to have a problem with women. The fact that he made "equal pay for equal work" one of his platforms while he practices the exact opposite as a Senator (http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,9486.0) is laughable.

and what is add is that single women of virtually every age group voted for him. (more fun from the exit polls)
