I just got invited to an office Christmas party.....for November 15.
Doesn't this seem a little early?
It can't be because of scheduling problems, given that the party's at a ritzy place in a town of 223 people located miles and miles and miles away from anywhere else.
But doesn't this seem a little early?
By the way, this is a Christmas, not a Holiday, party.

On Halloween night, a local radio station started playing Christmas music. No joke. I almost came off of my sugar high when I heard it.
November 15th seems early to me but to the rest of the country apparently, it's perfectly acceptable. Must be Obama supporters. Don't know which was is up and which month celebrates what!

It does seem a tad early since you have Thanksgiving to come yet. Christmas parties really should be limited to December.

Last year our company Christmas party was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. :whatever:
This year it's Dec 6th, but I don't know if I'm even going to go to it.

Hmmm. I never thought of that, but that sounds reasonable.
I'm sure dutch508 here can explain what ranch-hands do during December; I know they're incredibly busy (it's no 8-5 MTWTF sort of job), but I'm never exactly sure what they're doing out there.
But really, it would make more sense for the host to just cut a check for everybody involved, and pass on a party.

My husband's work party is December 7th. I have already notified him that I wont be going. I am very vain and my eye will still be drooping by then, I don't want to have to explain what is wrong with me the whole night. Too bad, I have a really sexy dress to wear. I actually bought it for my brothers funeral and it was quite expensive. I decided my brother was worth it. I didn't realize it was so "sexy" until my Mom AND my Dad (my biological Dad) made a comment (in a good way) the day of his funeral. It isn't sexy in a sleazy way but in a very classy expensive way. I'll save it for next year.

I have heard of radio stations playing Christmas music after Halloween. In my area, I think they do it after Thanksgiving or mid-November.

I agree. I hate seeing early Christmas sales. I see them as early as September. I like Christmas, but that is ridiculous.

Our Thanksgiving party is the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I think I'll bring a chocolate cake.
I'm not sure when the Christmas party will be, but I'm definitely sure it's some time in December.

What bothers me is the music. :censored:
It never snows here, so it's a little hard to feel Christmassy two months ahead of schedule.

On now Rob, he's average-sized for a 66-year-old man.
He's got 40,000+ head of cattle, but I really don't know if that makes him a large cattleman or a very large cattleman or an average cattleman. It's one of those details that one is surrounded with, but doesn't pay attention to.

Seems early to me....I try to reserve any Christmas stuff until after T-day (except for shopping...I trry to spread that out over the whole year).
I think Mr Flame's office party is the 21st (of Dec) or something like that? He mentioned it to me, but that's it.
