Title: Thursday.
Post by: asdf2231 on November 06, 2008, 07:20:01 AM
Good Morning all!

Cleaning the house a bit today as my Brother and Nephew will be spending the night with us here on their way to scenic Flint MI.

My kids have tummies filled with tasty oatmeal and are getting ready for school and by small miracle I actually got a decent amount of sleep last night.
Being sleep deprived does NOT help your over all mental health when your party takes a drubbing in an election cycle.  :-)

Trying to figure out what to make for dinner tonight.  Something made of meat I'm thinking.  Maybe grill some burgers and brats, dunno.

Anybody doing anything glamorous today?

I think you just decided dinner here...that sounds yummy!

Cleaning here too...no working out..maybe a walk in the nice weather, but that's it. No school...just me and my vacuum and french maids outfit sweats.

Oh I have to take down everything Halloween too and put a few little turkey things out to prepare. I"m going to get the other half on the horn to get a cord of wood delivered here too. I want to use my fireplace dang it!

I'm hoping to get the "blank" NUtcracker ticket at some point to day, because I have to label them all with seat numbers, and we start selling on Saturday morning.  The driector told me she would have them for me Monday, then she promised Wednesday, and here it is Thursday and I'm still waiting.   There are about 500 tickets (times 2 performances) that need to be hand labeled.

I really need to vacuum the house, too, but I've been procrastinating on that...I hate vacuuming!

Trying to plan Thanksgiving stuff...talked to my sister last night, and although they have filed for divorce, she and her (ex?)husband are planning on spending the holiday together, so they may all come over here for dinner.  Can you say awkward?

Not much else going on, as usual!

I would take that as a compliment to you, madam.

At least that's the way it's always been explained to me.

I've always been uncomfortable when dealing with two people waging hostilities against each other, letting their hair down so to say, letting it all hang out.

It happens to me all the time, and I wish it didn't.

Being deaf, unaware of what's being said, anything I say, even an innocent comment about the weather, can be volatile, exacerbating the matter.

It happens to me all the time, considerably ageing me.

I got really tired of this one time--"happily married" couples nagging each other in front of me, but in front of no one else, &c., &c., &c.--and inquired of a physician about it.

He suggested such people are comfortable "being themselves" when around me, while they're not comfortable being honest in front of other people, and so I should take it as a compliment to myself, that people do this.

Well, okay, but that doesn't get rid of the knitting-needles in the stomach.

Good morning all.

I have the day off today so my plan is to be as lazy as possible. Any suggestions on how I should go about that?

DU always is a good place for reference on that topic.  :-)

I took yesterday off from work, so I have a little extra do to today.  Overall everything's going smoothly.

:)

I am headed to work in about an hour, will be there until 10 or so tonight.

Fighting a little bit of a head cold, but not enough to keep me from doing what needs to be done.

This is day 4 of a 7 day stretch at work...and I am already tired!

Had only once class today, then went to do some quick shopping and picked up some lunch.

Now, I'm working on a literature review for another class.  My mom is coming to town on Saturday, along with my grandmother and 14 year old ( :o ) cousin.  We're going on a "Midnight In The Garden Of Good and Evil" trolley tour in downtown Savannah, plus a possible visit to Paula Deen's restaurant.    :cheersmate:

Good news for me, my eye is better (the doctor said 95% better) and I get to reduce my steroids to 30mg for three days, then 20mg for three days then 10 mg until I see him again in two weeks.  I have to continue the pred forte ever hour but I don't have to be as militant about it and I have to continue the dilation but I get to reduce it to twice a day instead of four.  In two weeks I will probably get to get off the oral prednisone and drop the pred forte to every two hours for a week, then reduce it further every week but it will probably take me two months to totally get off it.

My doctor said the eye lid droop will last up to up to two months past when I am totally off the pred forte drops and my eye will still appear dilated for two weeks once I stop using the dilating drops (which I will probably get to stop next time I see him).  All I care about now is that my eye feels better and I'm not a pissed off crying mess.  I am upset about my fake looking eye but everyone says it's not as noticeable as I think it is (but what else can they say :p ).
