This was something said on another board I frequent today... hoping that Americans will get over the fact that their candidate didnt win and "support the president." What does that mean exactly? Can you do that and support your ideals? If the president doesnt represent your ideals? I just think that is a funny thing to say. I can support the constitution and use my rights as spelled out in the constitution to participate in government, but I have a funny feeling that isnt how the person was thinking when they said that they hoped I would support this president.

How do we show support for any president? We just go about our daily lives and hope the government doesn't mess it up for us. OTOH, showing non-support means protesting every little thing that he says and does, much like the moonbats have done for the past 8 years.
-
Hell, like it or not he is our president. I may not support his policies or vision for our country, but I support his position as leader of the free world.
God help us, and the world.

It means "bend over and shut up -- here it comes."

We have 70 days or so to find proof of his criminal activity with the Chicago Mob -- jfk might have been able to dodge that, but the fuhrer will not have kennedy's advantages.

I support my country. It's why I supported Bush, because he loved the country. I do not feel Obama loves the country. I can't support someone who doesn't love the country.

I will show as much respect and dignity as the DUmp monkeys have over the last eight years.
I will show as much respect to the CiC as I did to Pres Clinton... after we were ordered to.

Supporting your President means to stand by him when he makes the tough decisions. Humans are bound to make mistakes. It happens. That said, I cannot and WILL NOT support a known terrorist sympathizer, a socialist, and someone that lies. Therefore, I WILL NOT SUPPORT Obama. I will be there to criticize his every move and I hope to be quick to point out his every mistake.
-
I may not go as the left did with Bush, but I won't mind pointing out when the boy ****s up.

If Obama wants to:
* reaffirm the 2nd amendment
* outlaw pre-natal homocide
* encourage business growth
* secure peace through superior firepower
* protect free speech
* keep marriage traditional
* grant the means for families to remove children from failing schools rather than reward failure with more money
* tell able-bodied adults to get a job or starve
* appoint orignalist judges
* allow us to abandon the sinking ship known as Social Security
I will be happy to support him. Hell, I might even vote fot him in 2012.
But for each point he misses I will petition the government for the redress of grievances.
And if he tries his vote-fraud, illegal donation, commie terrorist sympathizer bulshit I will demand his political head on a stick on the White House lawn to serve as a warning to all pretenders to the throne.

I have no intention whatsoever of shutting up and falling in line for the sake of "Supporting my President" if what he's trying to do is screw me and piss on my values. To the extent he stays away from doing that, we'll get along just dandy.

Yeah. That!

I support the military which means I agree with legislation and decisions that make their job easier and quicker. I support the USA which means I would never betray her security or weaken her defense or standing through any action on my part.
Barack Obama has ties to known terrorists which is major of the many reasons he did not get my vote. I will continue to respect the office, but I can't respect the man.

He's not MY president.
And he never will be.

I will never support him, he is the spawn of satan as far as I am concerned. :loser:

It's a weakness in me.
I can't bring myself to hope something bad happens to our country.
Because it'll be happening to us. I'm not going to turn into a DUmmie and get all Obama=Hitler. America voted. We lost. Bad. It sucks. He's a bad choice for president. But I can't hope something bad happens to our country, be it financially or militarily.
I can only hope he doesn't **** us up too much.

That's the way I look at it. Seriously this could be really really bad, it could be just a little bad or it could be not all that bad. Now I'm not saying it's going to be good - because it won't - but what other choice other then to say maybe it won't be a total melt down.

Removing snake venom from a bite on your arm hurts like hell. But it saves your life.

That's a tough question peanut. Obama goes against every ideal I have and because of the people who surround him, I have grave concerns about his character.
To answer your question, I guess I support the American way and our method of electing our presidents... I just can't claim to be thrilled with this outcome.
-
I support the Constitution. Period.
If that limp dick marxist who just landed his sorry ass in the Oval Orifice, really works to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution - and I don't mean just keeping it in a glass case with a special, non-corrosive atmosphere, under armed guard - then he has my support. If, as he has shown every sign of intending, he intends to tear down the Constitution, to "break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution", as teh Obamessiah said so eloquently back in 2001, then he has made himself my enemy, and indeed the enemy of all freedom-loving Americans who still have the courage to say so. Should he move to undermine the Constitution, I'll burn him at the stake myself.

That second one is what it means to support the Big Zero................I mean come on, you should be used to supporting an Obamination.................have you seen puppy pack football this year

I will continue to support the office of President.
Whether I and up supporting the soon to be resident of that office is totally up to him and his actions.
Based on his actions so far, I don't see myself ending up supporting him
-
I will continue to support the office of President.
Ditto. Hi-5 for that.
Q: "Do you support the president?"
A: "I support the office of the President, just as I support all the branches of government."
Q: "Do you support our future/current President?"
A: "I did not know that was a prerequisite for being a citizen of this country. Isn't protest patriotic?"

Well stated. POTUS will always have my respect. The holder thereof will need to earn it.
But should the POTUS engage in a decision that involves use of our military, I will support him, no matter what. With the proviso that the holder will be accountable, as bj klinton was accountable for 9/11.
But by now, our enemies have learned how to undercut us -- just make our leader unpopular. And so easy, too.
The new fuhrer is NOT exempt from this angle of attack.
-
There is a difference between supporting the position of President and the policies of the one who holds that office.
If an attack comes (I say if because I think there is a chance the muzzies will feel they have a friend so no need for one) and he fights back forcefully against a sworn enemy then I will support him in that.
If his actions are to cower or hope to appease then never.
Voters have made their choice and in our system of government that choice no matter what it is needs to be respected.
Hopefully over the next few months many realize that the great hope they voted for is a smarmy fraud.

Well said, sir; there is a difference.
If an attack comes (I say if because I think there is a chance the muzzies will feel they have a friend so no need for one) and he fights back forcefully against a sworn enemy then I will support him in that.
Not "if," but "when."
It's coming.
If his actions are to cower or hope to appease then never.
Of course not; it's patriotic to dissent when a politician is wrong.
Voters have made their choice and in our system of government that choice no matter what it is needs to be respected.
It is.
Hopefully over the next few months many realize that the great hope they voted for is a smarmy fraud.
They will.

LOL... sheepishly saying... "We're an academic school." ;)
And, yes, I do generally pull for the last ACC team in the big dance. Hurts like Hell to pull for Duke or Carolina... but I do it out of respect for the conference. Good analogy. Thanks.

Ya know, if that was the case, then yeah... I'd support Obama. But that is FAR from his ideals that have been exposed.
The way I see it, **** him. I don't believe he loves his country, has our best interests in mind, our that he will even abide by the Constitution. :censored:

Wait
I'm supposed to support the anti-Christ just because it was voted POTUS?
I don't think so Tim.

I have no delusions that the Big Zero is going to give us more then enough reasons to not support him. His liberal past isn't going to dissapear after jan. 20th 2009.
