Uneventful in my area, which is a small farm county here in Maryland, although I have to say that the lines were exceptionally long this time around. Took me about an hour, which isn't bad, but way longer than past elections.
-
Went smooth!
Mr. Asdf2231 has voted! :)
-
My wife is watching the Dallas FOX morning show. They keep reporting about how there are no lines. People are walking in and out in five minutes. They blame early voting.
-
The poll in my town seems to be running smoothly. There ARE campaign signs across the street, but they're in compliance with the 100 ft rule. (Of course, all of the campaign signs are for Dems)

Up here Undies, there was high early voter turn out, up to 50% of registered voters in Denton County already voted.
I voted last Wednesday.

I voted on the 22nd. There were about 15 people there. That's a big rush for this area.
-
Voted this morning--in and out in less than two minutes.
Will vote again this afternoon after work. I expect to be there quite a while.
Oh, did I mention that my vote this morning was for the new contract at work? My bad. :fuelfire:

I voted at the Euless library at 2 in the afternoon, about a 20 minute wait not too bad.
-
Well I just did my part to help defeat communism today. Unfortunately they only let me cast one vote, in spite of my insistance I was an ACORN kid and thus entitled to seventeen. I was in an out in no time. :cheersmate:

For me, it was stressful . even though were talking Massachusetts where the result is predetermined, the atmosphere in the polling place was tense. The most tense Ive ever seen it. Im glad to be out of there.
-
mega-slammed in SC, but that may also be because the poll workers are just dumb. it's government, of course, so that's par for the course. voting stopped because of a shortage of little paper tags. :whatever: a voting machine broke and got taken to the back, but no one said anything about "they are going to go erase the obama votes out of it". :-)
the exit pollers were very, very young looking females. I took special notice of that, since it was "young female grad students" that, for wherever reason, had the exit polls indicating a kerry romp in 2004.
-
I voted several weeks ago. Haven't heard of any problems in Phoenix.
I'm operating at less than full capacity after attending McCain's midnight victory rally in Prescott. Got home at 3:15 and had to be at work at 7. It's going to be a looonnnggg day!
Slideshow of Rally (http://www.azcentral.com/commphotos/azcentral/8634/6/6)
Great turnout for midnight on a weekday.

We didn't even have any nagging exit pollers, just some girl scouts selling cookies.

They got me for two boxes.

that was them. if you bought thin mints, you were marked down as a mccain voter; coconut delights were considered obama supporters. :uhsure: :-)
-
I got to the polls at 6:10, and walked out about 8am. The line was HALF what it was when I left. :banghead:
It would have been a lot faster if they'd had enough workers....only three people at a time could walk up to the table, so most of the voting machines constantly sat empty.
Now I'm thinking of telling the boss that I haven't voted yet, so I can get an early pass out of here. There's a recipe of Emeril's I'd like to try to make for dinner, and it'll either be a celebratory meal, or my last meal containing vegetables and protein for the next four years. I'll only be able to afford those for the kids.
-
In and out in no time in NC. Our area went back to paper ballots after using the electronic machines in the primaries. Barky supporters campaigning on the sidewalk right by the door to the voting place and giving away free candy to voters. :censored:
-
They got me for two boxes.
Really? Already that time of year? Or are they just REEEEEEEEALLLLY stale ones?
BTW--I hope you got me a box of Samoas and one of Thin Mints.
-
Went around 8:00, short wait and busier than usual, but no long line. It's a rural precinct.
-

You should have gone to the MA polling places in Hampton, Portsmouth, and Seabrook. Swear ta God there were more MA than NH plates in the parking lots of those polling places.
-
I was FORCED to vote at the local NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY!!! What the hell is wrong with this city??? And worst of all, a couple of BABY-KILLERS were PARADED THROUGH the building in their CAMOUFLAGE FATIGUES!!!! VOTER INTIMIDATION!!!!!!!!![/DUmp mode]
-
Well, here in eastern Jackson county, MO, we had a fairly long line at 7 AM, when we went to vote, which is unusual for our percinct......it takes us a bit longer because Mrs. "doc" is vision impaired, and I have to fill out a form to help her cast her ballot, but it basically went smoothly. Our precinct is fairly conservative so the large early turnout is a good sign......it was the most folks that I've seen at our polling place since we've lived here......no problems however.

I was around 20th in line at 6:30 am but was done by 7:15. There was probably 75 people in line when I left.
-
lots of evidence out there, albeit anecdotal, that the republican base is turning out in droves today.
-
No link yet, but Fox News just had an article about how the Black Panthers are blocking the door to a polling place in Philadelphia. They were holding night sticks and tapping them in their hands.

could it be that the 18-34 male demographic was trying to look enlightened and in touch with their feminine side and (gasp!) lied to the exit pollers?
voted last friday in Fayetteville, NC, took about 90 minutes, but not bad... several candidates were there stumping (all local).

and there we have it, the civilian security force...

Left Behind - starring the Black Panthers as the Global Community Peacekeepers, Louis Farrakhan as the False Prophet and Barack Hussein Obama as the Antichrist.
That's a joke, folks.

Two Black Panthers have been blocking the entrance to a precinct with a night stick in an attempt to stop people from voting, witnesses tell Fox News. The one Black Panther is actually still there, but police were dispatched to the scene.
Motive? Witnesses say that the men were telling them that the era of white supremacy is over and that a black man would be president. If I get any more information I’ll update.
Update: I’m hearing that the one Panther is also a poll watcher.

What if you bought one of each? I like both... :uhsure: cookies that is :-)

I actually laughed out loud when I saw her name on the ballot.

Now that's a mark that's never going away :bawl: I like it hard, but not that hard. :lmao:

I voted back in Atlanta a few weeks ago. I waited around an hour to vote then, as my polling place was in a blue island within Lawrenceville, GA (Gwinnett County). I'd say the numbers were pretty even regarding McCain voters vs. Obama voters. However, the Obama voters were consistently in violation of the "no wearing campaign items" rule.
I'm staying in my apartment until 3:30 or so, then I'm off to campaign one last time for McCain, and am praying that Americans are smart enough to see through Obama's lies.
-
I'm back early.
Well, that didn't go too well. As the rain is threatening to fall around here (slight drizzle right now) the county party chairman decided to call off the sign-waving. He would rather us not get sick.
A small bouncy: The Obama lovers are out in force, but I let them know I wouldn't have any of their nonsense. I had stopped at a busy intersection for the light, and there were all these women with their signs. One of them, some big burly old lady comes walking up to my car and pretty much proved my belief about many Obama voters (though I know there are exceptions)... THEY'RE INSANE!
Yeah, giving the middle finger was rude, but when you're knocking on my window, yelling at me to open it, how else do you think I'll react? :bird:
-
Somebody comes knocking at MY vehicle window, they're likely to find a gun in their face, unless they're in a law enforcement uniform and/or vehicle.
-
In and Out with about a 3 minute wait at 8:30 this morning in central CT. Also stopped to buy girl scout cookies on the way out.
-
Got to the polls after work (left after training) just after 4 PM. In and out in under 10 minutes. Straight-ticket Republican, and voted in favor of the tax cap locally--especially considering at one point our local property taxes were going to go up $5 per every $1000, from $19 to $24. An extra $1400 in property taxes. Yeah, that's what I needed.
-
Mr Smith and I went just before the polls opened this morning...the line was way out the door when we got there, and extended down the street within the 10 minutes until the polls opened. We were out of there 10 minutes after they opened...a pretty efficient system here. I met several people coming in who were :o :o about the crowd. The parking was packed for a couple blocks around.
This afternoon, I scrolled a couple KS news sites and found...
Sebelius touts Obama at polling site
The Capital-Journal
Published Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 12:04 p.m. CST
Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius today said her party’s nominee for president will do better in Kansas than his predecessors.

Kansas has the law about electioneering...I guess our Democratic governor is above the law. ::) This is almost as embarrassing as the time she said the state couldn't respond to the Greensburg tornado because all our Guard trucks were in Iraq. (We live a couple blocks from a unit...no trucks were missing - or used for the tornado.)

Ya can't vote at the same precinct! Ya have to go next door! :lmao:

One of our members over at USMILNET is in that unit. He quickly debunked Sebelius' statement.

I guess it's the political points that count, not the truth. :whatever:
