Got some sleep last night. Finally. Not enough but JUST enough that I feel semi human getting the carpet apes ready this morning.
My Daughter is the best!
She got up this morning and fed the pets, did the dishes and took out the trash. :)
All I had to do was provide breakfast and get some coffee in me. (They got bacon and cheese omelets with toast and oranges and the last of the fresh press cider.)
Taking her in to get her braces installed today. She's going to be an unhappy camper.
I am glad this stupid election is over today folks. :p

"Slept in" today, which means I slept past 7:00 (was up at 7:45). Just the boys home this morning...girls child stayed at a friend's last night, and Mr Flame had to leave extra early this morning to go into DC (yuck!). I plan on heading out to vote late this morning. Waiting to hear from someone who is Freecycling a sewing machine, since my niece just last week said she was saving up for one.
Football practice and dance tonight.
The forecast says it is supposed to be in the 60's today, but it is overcast and foggy so far, so I can't really judge if it will be a nice day or not....guess I'll just be surprised!

I got to school a few minutes before 8 to see that class had been canceled. So I'm in the lab wasting time until my 10 am class. I could have gone home, but I know that I'd turn on one of the cable news networks and end up getting sucked into it and not want to come back.
I've worked enough hours the rest of the pay week that I should be easily able to get off work early today. w00t. (Tuesday is the last day in the pay week).

Woke up early--aches and pains all over. Think I'm coming down with a low-grade flu.
Death by Powerpoint again today, then driving home to vote. Whee.
-
So, I've been sitting around campus for 2 hours waiting for my stupid 10am class, only to find out that it's been delayed until 11. :whatever:
-
In "walking zombie" mode today. Made the trip up to Prescott last night for a midnight victory rally for McCain. Good turnout, fun times. But I didn't get home until 3:15 and had to be at work at 7. I managed to convince my boss to let me leave at 2. I'll go home and sleep some before I head over to my folks' place to watch the returns on cable.

Doing work emails, checking on here, helping the other half with some computer work, Fox on in the background, going to go vote about 3.
Found a different recipe for Shepherd's Pie that I think I might make for dinner.....comfort food seems to be appropriate.

If you like the recipe would you mind sharing it? I have never made Shepherd's Pie before.

I waited around campus for 3 hours for 20 minutes of class. :whatever:
Oh and I've already heard from others the boss is super bitch today. Great. She's going to be pissed, I have to leave at 4, otherwise I go into overtime and we've been told absolutely no overtime for anyone. I'll be caught up, but she just won't like that I'm leaving.

Getting ready to go make it, have already decided to make a few changes/additions, but will be happy to share!

Well, I opened the 12 pack of Blue Moon... yes, I know I'm breaking the rules, but hey, I think I should be allowed this one night. :uhsure: :cheersmate:
Today's been rough...didn't do so hot on the statistics exam, and the other class bored me to death. So, as I said, I think I deserve it. :p

I'm just about to leave to pick up the beer for my friend's house tonight. :cheersmate:

Three words--Must. Use. Guinness.
And if you please, make sure you use lamb or it's not Shepherd's Pie, it's Cottage Pie.
-
I lost a toenail today. frack. Slammed my foot into a wooden crate that was in the hallway. ow ow ow.
Have beer, will drink.

Well ...I made it. It tasted good.....it was more like a ground beef stroganoff on baked mashed potatoes. I added/changed the recipe. M thought it was delicious. I thought it was ok, great comfort food......but it's appearance leaves much to be desired. Because of the way it looked, I would not serve it to company, but it was quick and fine for us.
It was not what I would call Shepherd's Pie....
Still want the recipe, BEG?

:o OUCH!
I actually am mixing things up with the beer tonight. Aside from the 12 pack of Blue Moon, I also purchased a 6 pack of their Full Moon winter ale. Now THAT is good... better than Sam Adams version.
