Oh my.
No matter what happens--the Big Zero wins, the Big Zero loses--I've expected this, and after seeing the rampages and riots and burnings in Philadelphia after the World Series--a celebration, by the way, which might or might not be the case tonight--there's probably going to be a lot of this.
The advice sounds a little like the preparations for nuclear war or a natural disaster.
Tape your squad car's windows to protect against shattered glass. Carry extra radio batteries. Wear a clip-on tie. Remember you're being watched and probably filmed. Stay close to your partner. If you have to strike someone, don't raise your baton above your head.
With the Democratic hopeful's campaign saying that only 65,000 ticket-bearing supporters will be admitted to the rally in Hutchison Field, not everyone is sure.
Tens if not hundreds of thousands of Chicagoans keen to witness Obama's speech likely will be downtown for several hours, creating a major security headache for authorities.
Daley has repeatedly encouraged Obama's unticketed backers to head to Grant Park anyway, saying Saturday, "The mayor's not going to tell anybody not to come to this celebration.
"It's a historic event. If people want to be there, they should."
I think Dick Daley's son is going to regret that last comment.
The ghosts of the 1968 Democratic Convention, when police and demonstrators clashed in front of the world's media, still linger.
And according to Northwestern University sociology professor Gary Fine, inviting unticketed supporters to attend could be a major mistake.
"What are all these people going to do?" he said. "What if they all decide that they voted for Obama, that they contributed to his campaign, and they want to be inside the rally, too?"
Pollsters Monday night were predicting a convincing win for Obama, but Fine said that if Obama loses, the sense of disappointment in the crowd might turn ugly.

Given the average Obama voter's predisposition to an entitlement mindset, that's going to be a likely issue. Maybe Obama's 'civilian forces' can keep his mob at bay. :lmao:

Well, if the Moose-limbs want a highly sensitive/visiable target....there it is.

If you have a ticket to Barack Obama's bash in Chicago tonight, make sure you take that ticket AND your driver's license because ID is required to get in.
How ironic that he pushed for people to be able to vote without having ID but to get into his party - gotta have that ID.
:ohsnap:

I think the typical Obama supporter in the major cities are going to show their asses win or lose.

Grant Park is the absolute last place I'd like to be tonight. I know some people who work in the Loop who are taking tomorrow off, because they're worried about the destruction and chaos that'll have taken place tonight, win or lose for the anointed one.

6 boxes of #3 steel shot 12-gauge, 200 rounds of .45 ball, another 50 rounds of .45 hollowpoint.
Go ahead and start some shit in my neighborhood, bitches.

The only trouble in NH will be if the Massholes want the cheap alcohol from the NH liquor stores on the interstate!

I have a niece with a newborn baby who lives in the not-so-nice section of Philadelphia. She's says she's a little concerned but is well protected. I hope so.
