Running from hell
By Trevor Melanson

The mattock, a close cousin of the pickaxe, is used to dig through tough, earthy surfaces—it loosens soil, breaks rock, and tears through knotted grass. Its handle is a three-foot wooden shaft, twice the density of a baseball bat and its dual-sided iron head is comprised of a chisel and a pick. It was Pastor Fred Phelps’s weapon of choice when beating his children according to his son, Nate Phelps.

“The Bible says ‘spare the rod, spoil the child,’” explained Nate, “and he would be screaming that out as he was beating us.” One Christmas night, Pastor Phelps hit Nate over 200 times with a mattock’s handle, swinging it like a baseball player.

Nate would hide out in the garage with his siblings, where he could escape his father’s wrath. What he couldn’t escape, however, was the fear of going to hell. He suffered much abuse growing up under the roof of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church (WBC)—he still suffers today.

========================================

Very disturbing and scary read. Fred Phelps is very abusive to his children and wife. Also, he likes abusing other people. Truly a sick and demanted and worthless scumbag of the lowest denominator.

I always ask the same question:  WHY doesn't the Baptist Church denounce these  :censored: and stop them from using the name "Baptist"?

I don't think they should be allowed to use the word 'living' and if I had anything to do with it they wouldn't.   :bird:

Oh my.

There's lots and lots of comments there, and someone gave a casual informal psychoanalysis of Fred Phelps.

It's the sparkling husband primitive thing all over again.

The similarities are uncanny; remarkable.

Every Baptist Church and Christians have denounced him. He is virulently anti-Christian and attacks and labels all Christians as "fag churches" (whatever that is?) that promote the "fag agenda" and teaches that being gay is alright. He even said Christmas was a "fag holiday". :mental:

Quote
Phelps views Arminianism (particularly the views of the Methodist theologian William Munsey) as a "worse blasphemy and heresy than that heard in all filthy Saturday night fag bars in the aggregate in the world."[27] In addition to John Calvin, Phelps admires Martin Luther, Bob Jones, Sr., John Gill, and has stated that "what this country needs is 50 Jonathan Edwardses turned loose in it."[28] Fred Phelps particularly holds to equal ultimacy, believing that "God Almighty makes some willing and he leads others into sin," although Phelps denies being a hyper-Calvinist. [29]

Phelps is against common practices like Sunday school meetings, Bible colleges and seminaries, and multi-denominational crusades[30], although he attended Bob Jones University and worked with Billy Graham in his Los Angeles Crusade before Graham changed his views on a literal Hell and salvation outside of Jesus Christ. Phelps considers Graham the greatest false prophet since Balaam, and also condemns large church leaders such as Robert Schuller and Jerry Falwell, in addition to all current Catholics.[31]

Many other Calvinists, such as James White[32], do not acknowledge Phelps, and regard his church as a cult.

Actually, I consider them a cult trying to form a new religion.

His angry filled sermon. It indicates that they are forming a new religion.

Phelps sued the school district claiming Mark and Nate were abused by them. He also abuses his wife. His male children who married admitted to abusing their own wives and children openly. They even challenged the police on that.

Phelps is no different from moonbats and primitives.
