It's rainy this morning in Phoenix. High will be about 60 today. It rained all day yesterday which was glorious.
The New England Patriots arrived at Sky Harbor yesterday. The New York Giants will be arriving today. My local television coverage this week will be all Super Bowl all the time. Come Sunday, I'll be sick of hearing about the stupid game.
TOTD: Are you going to have a good week?
Heck yes!
-
Good morning!
Sunny today, in the midst of a heat wave here in WV..highs in the upper 40s!
Just saw the sign that Little League sign-ups start next weekend. My life will once again be dictated by 3 conflicting schedules of kids' activities!
TOTD: I hope I have a good week...last week was pretty sucky, so I'm hoping for an improvement.
-
Argh Flame! That means we are having sign ups soon too. I have the youngest at the babysitter today so I plan to get a bunch of paperwork, bills, and other assorted garbage done.
We should be around 50 today too and sunny!! woohoo! I'll have to get a walk in too later today to enjoy it since tomorrow is all day rain, but warm.
TOTD: I'm planning on it! I decided to go ahead and ditch my last class. I just could not stay focused no matter how much I sat in front of the books and material. I decided it was probably time to take a little break--one I've contemplated since last semester. I'll be back up to a fulltime load the end of march when the new semester starts. In the meantime, it feels good to be unencumbered with anything but 'mom' stuff. Breaths easy!
-
Jty, if I were still in FL, practices for LL would have already started! The good thing about LL is I love to watch baseball, so I always enjoy it!
Glad you have some time to chill and do "just mom" stuff...I'm sure that will keep you busy enough!!

Well enjoy. My daughter cracked her skull playing so I'm not so sure we are going to pursue that sport again. :lmao: My littlest will be 4 in May so he's old enough to start in some of the team sports. I'm so excited about that since he's got a ton of energy and I think will love it!
-
TOTD: well I hope so! the little one is sick today. Garden variety crud - nothing major.
-
Happy Monday folks. January is almost over :cheersmate: We are expecting another cold, rainy day today.
TOTD: I sure hope so. I'll be working on making it an excellent week :-)
-
If the 10-day forecast is to be believed, my little corner of Heaven is on a Spring roll. Right now, it is too warm here for a January morning.
TOTD: The week will suck and blow.

Your positive attitude is what I adore about you :-* :hyper:

snow day here... kids off school all over, most people not going to work. its a winter wonderland in Seattle this morning... so pretty to wake up to.
i think my week will be the same ... nice, but busy.
-
Morning! Trying to find a doctor for my little one, she is sick AGAIN! I love calling all those doctor's offices, half of them answering in Spanish, and asking them if they take my insurance or not. Most of the time they say no and hang up. :banghead:
Anywoo, hope everyone has a blessed day today!
TOTD: I hope so, last week sucked. Maybe I will find a nanny job this week where people don't have me confused with an illegal worker and try to pay me $10 a day. Here's hoping!!!!
-
We're on a "heat wave" (upper 50's) today and tomorrow with thunderstorms coming in tomorrow late afternoon.
The weather guy even gave an ETA for them! ::)
TOTD: yep...going to be a good day! Showing houses....hope they like one ...

Optimists are suckers waiting for disappointment.

Warmer here, gonna hit the mid 40's.
TOTD
HELL yes. Beating last week would not be hard at this point.

That's my motto.

Well, Monday means back to class. I have to go talk to one of my professors' teaching assistants about a couple of recent absences (I've been battling a BAD head cold for the last two weeks, and there were a couple days where I just could not leave the apartment...my head hurt, and there were also instances where I couldn't keep anything down...not even water).
TOTD: I hope I have a better week. I just want to be WELL! I hate being sick, losing my voice, etc.

I was suppose to go to my husband's work tonight for an open house type thing but my middle child is sick. Took her to the doctor and she has the Flu...as in the real flu. They did a flu test (the swabbing of the nose thing) and it came back positive. She has been throwing up, a really bad headache and the last time I checked she had a fever of 104.5. He prescribed Tamiflu and told me to stay away from her. :whatever: I told him that I had had the flu shot and he said that the last 5 people he has diagnosed with the flu had the flu shot. :( When I called her school to let them know she had the flu they said that 5 kids parents had called in today because their kids have the flu as well.
Oh a better note, when I went to go pick up her Tamiflu I got stuff to make Chicken Salad and I just ate a Chicken Salad sandwich and it was YUMMY!
TOTD: I better have a great weekend with Schade coming for her visit. If I don't then it will be her fault. :p
Oh by the way, have any of you used Tamiflu before when you had the flu and has it helped?
-
Oh by the way, have any of you used Tamiflu before when you had the flu and has it helped?
My sister used it about a month ago, and it seemed to help her kick it more quickly than normal....hope your kiddo feels better soon, and I hope you don't end up with the flu for Schade's visit.

So do I, I'm really nervous about it.
-
Tamiflu has some warnings associated with it..behavioral I think?
Never tried it
Blizzard here, excuse me "winter storm warning"...its paused for a bit, so I grabbed the kid and got home while the getting was good as the snow drifting across the roads is making driving difficult.

If you do end up with the flu, don't discard the thought God maybe trying to tell you something. :lmao:

Well, if the influence fits...... :uhsure:

It warmed up here too.
If today is any indication of how this week will go I say this will be a crappy week.

I was right about today. The weather service got it all wrong for the second day. It hasn't budged out of the upper 50's all day. It's beem cloudy and misty. People around here are not in a jolly mood.
My daughter came and took my shopping. No one had a smile. It is a blue Monday without officially being a Blue Monday.
-

I have not used it or know anyone who does. But I would use it sparingly just in case...I'm starting to get paranoid about a lot of drugs on the market.
Not to scare you or anything:

TOTD: It will be a very good week.
-
Uggh, thankfully Monday is over. Work was just blah today. It's all cloudy outside and pretty much sucked ass all day.
TOTD: While today was kind of crappy, I think everyday will get better. So, overall, good week in store.
-
BEG....hope your little one is feeling better.
A bunch of us on milnet have had the "crud". I got it the day before Thanksgiving and was down sick for 5 days...I haven't been sick in 4 or 5 years! The stomach thing, fever, headaches, cough and nose thing.
Got better, but couldn't get rid of the cough....then got it all back, except for the stomach part, 2 days after Christmas. Down for another couple of days.
Everyone that I've talked to has done pretty much the same thing with or without meds. One of the guys at milnet is just getting better after round 3....and he's been going to the dr. :o
I did lots of advil and Lipton diet citrus green tea...4-6 bottles a day. Supposedly it's good for you, though I'm not going to tell you what my other half thinks of the taste....he hasn't ever tasted what he compares it to...so I'm ignoring his comments. ::)
I have heard of several around here having it turn into walking pneumonia...be careful that you don't get it.
-
What a long day. I hate not getting enough sleep. Three hours is NOT enough.
TOTD: meh. it's always the same.
-
How is your eye doing Chris?
-
How is your eye doing Chris?
It's stopped hurting. I've been taking extra-strenght Tylenol for the last couple of days which is not something I normally do. I made it through ten hours at work, so I think the rest of the week will be okay.
-
Glad to hear you are doing better.....be careful and don't overdo though ok?
-
I'm staying home from school today and going to bed early. I didnt get any sleep last night.
Time for my eye drops.

aww.. you girls are gonna have fun!
and i would be nervous too for my friend coming to a sick house... just use some lysol on everything, and tell Shade to use a bathroom that no one else uses.
oh, and wash her hands a lot while she's there.. and take some extra Vitamin C..
but have a blast! and have a shot for me.. :cheersmate:

we're having that on the west coast as we speak.. its kinda weird.
my in laws just came thru from cold canada, on their way to sunny Palm Springs, Ca.. and there is snow in Cali as well. their plane got diverted to Phoenix last night and it took them all day to fly four hours from here to there.
weird..

Time for my eye drops.
my husband had PRK this past summer and wow... what pain he had. I cant imagine letting someone do that stuff to my eyes.. but i dont wear glasses, so i dont really know what a hassle it was for him, for most of his life.
having to lie down and keep them closed for long periods... he was thankful it healed so quickly, but the pain afterwards was not fun to watch :-(
i hope you feel better as well. it sucks not sleeping..

The lasers weren't bad. It's the needles that was the worst part. And the swelling afterward. :bawl:
I got me some Dove dark chocolate... mmmm. There goes those 8 pounds I lost. Oh well.

:o Needles?!
Chocolate is the ultimate comfort food. I may not have been able to have it in a solid form after my jaw surgery, but being able to make home-made chocolate malts was great! :)
-
I've worn contacts for almost 40 years ( :o) ...I'd like to have the surgery...but frankly...it scares the hell out of me.
I could lose my hearing, and maybe my ability to speak...but if I lost my eyesight....I don't know that I could survive. I am terrible about changing my lenses...I usually wear them about a month at a time. I am very limited in my ability to function without either my lenses or glasses and the lens are so thick in my glasses it's ridiculous.!

It's pretty bad when the doctors and nurses have to tell you to breathe. GET THAT NEEDLE OUT OF MY EYE AND I'LL BREATHE!! :bawl:

They are sumpthin' else. The last time (and I do mean LAST TIME) I went for my nerve continuity test, when they jab an 18-ga. needle four inches deep into my body every three inches, the neuro tech, about halfway through, said, "You're shaking. What are you shakin' for?". They can be damned insensitive.

Ho-lee crap. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that.

that kinda made my skin crawl when he said that... *blech*

I had to have a shot of steroids in my eye once because I of UVeitis, that needle is scary. They put that "Clockwork Orange" type opener on your eye and you can't exactly look away when they are coming at you with the needle. :o

At least they didn't suck any of my eye juice out like they did with Chris. At least that is what I think they did.

" oh. my. God." doesn't quite work for me ....I was thinking more along the lines of "OH. HOLY. SHIT!!!!!!!!"
I fainted the first time I put a contact in my eye.....then did it again when I couldn't get it out. Even after almost 40 years....I still can't put on directly in place...I have to put it by my bottom lid and look down into it to get it in place. There's just something about getting near my eyes that creeps me out.... :whatever:
